The Brewers selected Richardson's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.
Richardson will likely be used to eat some low-leverage innings this week as the Brewers try not to overdo it with the workload of their starting pitchers. The righty holds a career 6.48 ERA and 47:40 K:BB over 58.1 innings covering parts of four big-league seasons.
