Jarvis is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mets.
Jarvis will hit the bench along with fellow left-handed hitter Mike Yastrzemski while the Mets send southpaw Zac Thornton to the bump for the series finale. Mauricio Dubon will spell Jarvis at shortstop and will bat sixth.
