Atlanta recalled Hicklen from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.
Summoned from Gwinnett on Sunday to serve as Atlanta's 27th man in the MLB Little League Classic in Williamsport, Pa., Hicklen ended up going unused in a 4-2 win over the Brewers. Atlanta returned him to Triple-A immediately following the game to bring the active roster back to 26 men, but Hicklen will now be line for a more extended stay after the club optioned infielder Jim Jarvis to Gwinnett on Monday. Hicklen isn't expected to see meaningful playing time while he's up in the big leagues, with most of his opportunities likely to come late in games as a defensive replacement, pinch hitter or pinch runner.
