Stripling's move to the injured list was expected after he exited the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Angels due to the injury. Manager Charlie Montoyo didn't provide a timetable for the right-hander's return, but Steven Matz appears to be in line to continue serving as the No. 5 starter.
