Blue Jays manager John Gibbons announced Tuesday prospect Devon Travis has won the starting job at second base and Steve Tolleson has made the roster as a backup infielder.
However, those two announcements could cost Ryan Goins, who was in competition with Travis and Tolleson, a spot on the roster.
“Definitely played good enough to be on the team," Gibbons said of Goins. "We want him on the team, but the bullpen will determine all that."
Goins hit .292 with one home run, one triple, five doubles, six RBI, six walks and eight runs in 24 spring games.
