Manoah (back) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list prior to his start Saturday against the Royals.
The rookie posted a 2.90 ERA and 52:15 K:BB in 40.1 innings across eight starts before landing on the injured list July 19 with a bruised back. Manoah will face Kansas City for the first time in his career Saturday. Trent Thornton was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo to clear space on the roster.
