The Padres released Hunt on Tuesday.
Hunt cleared waivers after being scrubbed from the Padres' 40-man roster, and he's now on the free-agent block. The catcher has slashed .301/.381/.617 with 11 homers in 42 games at the Triple-A level in 2026, and he struck out in all three plate appearances during his brief time in the majors earlier this season.
