Kemp went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Mariners.
Logan Gilbert kept the A's off the scoreboard until the sixth inning when Kemp took advantage of a fastball right over the heart of the plate and sent it over the right field wall. It was his first home run since Sept. 3 and his seventh of the year. The 29-year-old typically isn't known for his power but has shown a knack for getting on base at a relatively high rate. That has proven to be true this season, as Kemp is slashing .266/.374/.398 with 25 extra-base hits, 32 RBI, 51 runs scored, seven steals and 51:51 BB:K over 384 plate appearances.
