Ortega underwent surgery Thursday to remove loose bodies in his right elbow, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Ortega traveled back to Houston on Tuesday in order to get his elbow checked out, and the procedure will keep him sidelined for three-to-four months. He will almost certainly begin the season on the 60-day IL, opening a roster spot in Houston's bullpen.
