Maldonado isn't starting Saturday's game against the Padres, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Maldonado had started each of the last five games and went 3-for-15 with a run, an RBI, two walks and four strikeouts during that time. Garrett Stubbs will start at catcher and bat ninth.
