The Astros selected Weems' contract from Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday.
Weems gave up a couple runs over three relief innings earlier this season for the Astros before being booted off the 40-man roster. He's now back on the active roster and will give manager Joe Espada a fresh bullpen arm.
