Perez was optioned to Double-A Corpus Christi on Sunday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Perez made his major-league debut Friday against the Angels and went 0-for-1 with a strikeout while serving as a pinch hitter. Yuli Gurriel will likely return from the paternity list ahead of Tuesday's game in Arizona, so Perez will head back to the minors, where he's in line for additional playing time.
