The Astros designated Murray for assignment Tuesday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Murray has made eight appearances out of the Houston bullpen this season, allowing 11 runs with an 8:7 K:BB over 13.1 frames. The 29-year-old has a chance to clear waivers and remain in the organization.
