Paredes has made Houston's Opening Day roster, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
While Paredes is technically still being developed as a starter, he's expected to fill a relief role during the shortened 2020 season. The 5-foot-11 right-hander sports a mid-to-upper-90s fastball and a power slider that could eventually profile nicely in a setup role.
