Schanuel is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Rays, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
It looks to be a routine day off for Schanuel, who had started each of the previous four contests. Brandon Drury is sliding over to first base while David Fletcher gets a start at second.
