Rengifo was scratched from Sunday's lineup with a left thumb sprain.
Maria Torres of the Los Angeles Times notes that Rengifo broke a hamate bone in his left hand last year. If the Angels have any long-term concerns about the hand, they could very well shut Rengifo down for the rest of the year, with little to play for over the remainder of the 2020 season. That being said, he should be considered day-to-day for now.
