Jets' Malachi Moore: Minimal output in loss
Moore tallied three total tackles (all solo) and one pass defended in Thursday night's 27-14 loss to the Patriots.
The rookie safety from Alabama posted his lowest tackle total in Thursday's loss since the Jets' Week 4 loss to the Dolphins, a game in which he played only two defensive snaps. Since taking over as the starting strong safety in the Week 6 loss to the Broncos, Moore has recorded 27 total tackles and two passes defended across five contests. He's expected to continue starting alongside Tony Adams in New York's secondary in the Week 12 matchup against the Ravens.

Jets' Malachi Moore: Leads Jets in tackles Sunday
Moore finished with eight tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 39-38 win over the Bengals.
The safety now has 34 tackles (18 solo) and a pass breakup on the year. Moore, a rookie fourth-round pick, got the starting safety job in September when Tony Adams was sidelined by a hip injury, but he hasn't ceded it even with Adams back in the fold. The rookie has played on every defensive snap in each of the Jets' last three games.

Jets' Malachi Moore: Records three tackles Saturday
Moore (oblique) logged three tackles (two solo) in the Jets' preseason loss to the Giants on Saturday.
Moore had suffered a strained oblique in practice earlier this month that led to him being sidelined but he's now healthy. The 23-year-old should serve as the team's backup free safety behind Andre Cisco once the regular season begins.

Jets' Malachi Moore: Dealing with oblique strain
Moore has been diagnosed with a strained oblique and did not practice Friday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
The Jets used a fourth-round pick, 130th overall, on Moore in April's 2025 NFL Draft. Moore was a five-year producer at Alabama, playing 64 games in total during college. He's expected to serve as the Jets' third safety behind Tony Adams and Andre Cisco.

Jets' Malachi Moore: Jets add versatile Round 4 safety
The Jets selected Moore in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 130th overall.
Moore is very experienced after playing five years at Alabama, starting three seasons (twice as captain), and new Jets coach Aaron Glenn likely has a better eye for defensive backs than most coaches. The challenge with Moore is that he has the frame (5-foot-11, 196 pounds) and skill set of a cornerback, yet his speed fits better at safety. Playing Moore at slot corner would be one way to hide his speed deficiency while still potentially capitalizing on his standout football instincts.
