Jets' Arian Smith: One catch in Week 5
Smith caught his only target for 14 yards in Sunday's 37-22 loss to the Cowboys.
The rookie wideout from Georgia played 42 offensive snaps and caught his lone target in the Week 5 loss, bringing his season totals to four catches for 24 yards across five games. Smith played behind Garrett Wilson (68 snaps) and Josh Reynolds (53 snaps) on Sunday, suggesting he could be operating as the team's No. 3 wideout. However, the increased playing time didn't translate to production, and he'll likely have a similar role in the Week 6 matchup against the Broncos.

Jets' Arian Smith: Held catchless Week 4
Smith was not targeted during the Jets' 27-21 loss to the Dolphins on Monday.
Smith saw his offensive snap count dip to 29 in large part due to the return of Josh Reynolds, who played 42 snaps on offense. Monday marked the second time in four games that Smith did not register a catch, and the rookie fourth-rounder is firmly behind Lazard and Garrett Wilson on the Jets' wideout depth chart.

Jets' Arian Smith: Two catches vs. Tampa Bay
Smith caught both of his targets for two yards during Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Buccaneers.
With Josh Reynolds (hamstring) sidelined for the Jets' Week 3 loss, Smith played a career-high 48 offensive snaps. However, his increased workload didn't translate to production, as the rookie from Georgia was targeted just twice. Through his first three NFL games, the 23-year-old has posted three catches for 10 yards and one carry for minus-10 yards. The Jets' wide receiver corps is largely unproven outside of Garrett Wilson, so Smith's role could continue to grow in the Jets' Week 4 matchup against the Dolphins.

Jets' Arian Smith: Makes first NFL catch
Smith caught one of two targets for eight yards and rushed once for minus-10 yards in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Bills.
Smith was the only Jets wide receiver other than Garrett Wilson to log a catch in the absence of Josh Reynolds (hamstring). It was the first catch of Smith's NFL career, as the rookie fourth-round pick was blanked in his regular-season debut against the Steelers in Week 1.

Smith wasn't targeted and had a 31-yard kickoff return in Sunday's 34-32 loss to the Steelers.
Smith got the final kickoff return opportunity of the game for the Jets after Kene Nwangwu (hamstring) got hurt and Xavier Gipson lost a costly fumble on a kickoff return. Smith's speed could help the rookie fourth-round pick out of Georgia factor in as a deep threat on offense down the line, but his contributions will likely be limited primarily to special teams early on.

Smith had a quiet finish to his preseason, and the fact he suited up Friday while the Jets rested their starters suggests the rookie fourth-round pick will begin his career in a depth role. Smith can add a unique element to the Jets' passing game with his deep speed, but he struggled with drops at Georgia and likely won't be a key contributor out of the gate despite the team's lack of an established No. 2 wide receiver behind Garrett Wilson.

Smith caught two of three targets for 18 yards in Saturday's 30-10 preseason win over the Packers.
Smith's production came in the second and third quarters, well after starting quarterback Justin Fields had exited the game. Nonetheless, Smith flashed the impressive speed that enticed the Jets to draft him in the fourth round out of Georgia. The rookie wide receiver's in good position to make the 53-man roster, even if it's in a depth role at first.

Jets' Arian Smith: Heads to Jets in fourth round
The Jets selected Smith in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 110th overall.
Smith waited his turn in a crowded Georgia receiver room and rarely played through his first four seasons. However, he racked up 48 receptions, a team-high 817 receiving yards and four touchdowns in his fifth season. His 4.36 40-yard dash and 19.9 yards per catch during his career signal that he'll be a deep threat at the next level, although his route running and hands need some polish. The Jets have no clear order after No. 1 wideout Garrett Wilson, so Smith could have a role immediately, even if it's in a decoy capacity at first.
