Ojulari (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Monday's game against the Cowboys.
After logging limited practices all week, Ojulari will not play in Monday night's game against the Cowboys. The Cardinals opened his 21-day practice window Thursday as he continues to work his way back from the ACL, MCL and lateral meniscus tears he suffered in August 2024. Ojulari's next chance to return to the field will be in the Cardinals' Week 10 matchup against the Seahawks on Nov. 9.

Cardinals' BJ Ojulari: Limited in return to practice
Ojulari (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
The Cardinals opened Ojulari's 21-day practice window Thursday, and he was limited in his first practice of the season. The 2023 second-rounder tallied 40 tackles, including 4.0 sacks, across 17 regular-season games during his rookie year, but he was sidelined for his entire sophomore campaign after tearing the ACL, MCL and lateral meniscus in his left knee in August 2024, and a scope that he underwent in June revealed complications to the same knee that caused a setback during his rehab, per Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com. Ojulari will be in line to suit up for the Cardinals once he's been activated from IR, but he'll likely have to log full practices before Arizona makes that move.

Cardinals' BJ Ojulari: Returning to practice
Ojulari (knee - ACL) is slated to resume practicing Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Ojulari is still on the reserve/PUP list as he continues to work his way back from the ACL tear he suffered in August of 2024, but the opening of his 21-day practice window suggests that he's near the end of his recovery. It remains to be seen when he'll be ready for game action, though he'll need to be activated before the closing of the practice window in order to be able to play in games this season. Once he's ready to suit up, Ojulari should provide a boost to the Cardinals' pass rush.

Cardinals' BJ Ojulari: Sidelined until October
Ojulari (knee) was moved to the reserve/PUP list by the Cardinals on Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official website reports.
Ojulari has been working his way back from a torn ACL that he suffered in training camp in 2024, and he will now be forced to miss at least four games to open the 2025 season. In his absence, Baron Browning will operate as the primary backup option behind Zaven Collins at strongside linebacker.

Ojulari tore his left ACL two days ago, so his move to Arizona's IR is no surprise. The 2023 second-round pick out of LSU had a solid rookie campaign, recording 40 total tackles, including 4.0 sacks, and one pass defended across 17 regular-season games (394 defensive snaps). With Ojulari missing the entire coming season, expect 2024 first-round pick Darius Robinson to see more first-team reps as the preseason unfolds.

Cardinals' BJ Ojulari: Suffers ACL tear
Ojulari is set to miss the entire 2024 season after tearing the ACL in his left knee at Friday's practice, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
This is a tough break for Ojulari, who was slated to be one of the Cardinals' top pass rushers in the upcoming season and start opposite Zaven Collins at defensive end. However, he will now miss his entire sophomore campaign and focus on rehabbing his knee instead. As a result, Dante Stills and Darius Robinson figure to be prime candidates to compete for the newly available snaps in the trenches. Xavier Thomas and Cameron Thomas could also earn bigger roles on the edge.

Ojulari, a 2023 second-round pick, was sidelined until training camp as a rookie due to hamstring and knee injuries, making this his first fully healthy offseason. Now, Ojulari will need to compete for a sizeable role in Arizona's crowded outside linebacker rotation in order to build on a rookie campaign in which he tallied 40 tackles (32 solo), 4.0 sacks and one pass breakup across 17 games. With a larger snap share in Year 2, Ojulari will be a sleeper candidate to make the leap to IDP fantasy relevance.
