Jones (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday after missing three weeks due to a hamstring injury, the Indianapolis Star reports.
A seventh-round pick in 2023, Jones started all 17 regular-season contests last season, finishing with 100 tackles (66 solo), 12 pass breakups, including two interceptions, and one forced fumble. The Colts are counting on Jones to start opposite Charvarius Ward this season.

Jones has been sidelined for the past two weeks and doesn't appear close to getting back on the field. Jones (hamstring) was carted off the field at Tuesday's practice, Paul Bretl of USA Today reports.
Jones suffered the injury during one-on-one drills Tuesday. He dealt with an undisclosed soft-tissue injury earlier in the summer but had been cleared to practice to open training camp. Jones suited up for all 17 regular-season games in 2024, racking up 100 total tackles (66 solo) plus 12 pass breakups, including two interceptions, and one forced fumble across 1,104 defensive snaps. He's now competing with Justin Walley and JuJu Brents for the starting outside cornerback spot across from Charvarius Ward.

Jones was one of four players on the Colts' defense to record 100-plus tackles this season, starting all 17 of the team's games. The second-year pro from Texas A&M has now started 27 of the 34 regular-season contests he's appeared in, leading Indianapolis in passes defended and tying for second in interceptions in 2024. With two years remaining on his rookie contract, Jones is expected remain with the Colts in 2025. The 22-year-old is likely to remain continue serving as one of Indianapolis' top outside cornerbacks next season after an impressive 2024 campaign.
