Commanders' Drake Jackson: Cleared for full practice
Coach Dan Quinn said Tuesday that Jackson (knee/groin) has been cleared for full practice this week, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson was activated from injured reserve 12 days ago but has yet to play this season and hasn't appeared in a regular-season game since Week 8 of the 2023 campaign with the 49ers when he suffered a knee injury. It appears Jackson has a real chance to suit up Saturday against the Eagles.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Sidelined for Week 15
Jackson (knee/groin) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Jackson was able to practice in a limited capacity Thursday and Friday, but he has not progressed enough in his recovery to be cleared to play Sunday. He continues to work through a lingering knee injury from 2023 -- along with a newer groin issue -- and will aim to be available for Week 16 against the Eagles on Saturday, Dec. 20.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Continues to miss practice
Jackson (knee/groin) didn't practice Wednesday.
It's been another long season for Jackson, who signed with Washington in mid-October and almost immediately was placed on IR. He had his practice window opened Nov. 13 and was activated off injured reserve Dec. 4, though at that point he hadn't been able to consistently take part in practices. It appears Jackson is still trying to fully recover from the knee injury that he suffered during a game more than two years ago, and his DNP to begin this week of prep isn't a good sign for his readiness to return this coming Sunday versus the Giants.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Ruled out for Week 14
Jackson (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Vikings, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson is still recovering from a serious knee injury that has sidelined him for each of the last two seasons. He's no longer on IR, so he can suit up any time, though he wasn't able to practice in any capacity this week.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Doesn't practice after activation
Jackson (knee) didn't participate in practice Thursday.
On the same day the Commanders activated Jackson from IR, the fourth-year defensive end remained sidelined at practice. Washington waited until the last day of Jackson's 21-day practice window to activate him, so it seems both that the team expects him to play again this season and that Jackson's ramp-up is going slowly. With that and his consecutive DNPs this week in mind, it doesn't seem likely that Jackson will be ready to return to action Sunday versus Minnesota, though his status should be more clear upon the release of Friday's injury report.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Activated from IR
Jackson (knee) was activated from injured reserve Thursday.
The Commanders announced Nov. 13 that Jackson's 21-day window to return from IR had opened, and the team appears to have waited until the last possible moment to fulfill their obligation to activate him. The defensive end was a non-participant Wednesday and has struggled to consistently practice during the return window in general. The activation seems to imply Jackson will be ready soon, but his status for Week 14 is still up in the air.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Doesn't practice Wednesday
Jackson (knee) didn't participate in Washington's practice Wednesday.
Jackson was back on the sideline despite having returned to practice last week. The 24-year-old was designated to return from injured reserve Nov. 13, but the team has yet to officially activate him. Once healthy, Jackson should serve as one of the team's top reserve defensive ends.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Out for Week 13
Jackson (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Broncos, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
The USC product will not make his 2025 debut Sunday and will remain on the injured reserve list through Week 13. Jackson's last in-game action came with the 49ers in 2023, when he recorded seven total tackles, including 3.0 sacks, and one pass defensed over just eight regular-season games. Once fully healthy, he'll likely operate as one of Washington's top reserve defensive ends.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Scales back practice reps Thursday
Jackson (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Jackson was a full participant in Wednesday's practice but was not given the same workload during Thursday's session. It could've been a maintenance day for the fourth-year defensive end, who is recovering from a knee injury that caused him to be placed on injured reserve in mid-October. He'll need to be activated from IR in order to play Sunday against the Broncos.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Logs full practice
Jackson (knee) logged a full practice Wednesday.
Jackson hasn't appeared in a game since 2023 while recovering from a significant knee injury. This was his first full session since having his practice window opened, though his status for a Week 13 matchup against the Broncos remains unclear.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Not activated for Week 11
Jackson (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Jackson mustered a pair of limited practices after having his 21-day window to return to practice opened Thursday. He won't be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game, so Jackson will have additional time to recover during Washington's Week 12 bye before the Commanders return home to host the Broncos on Nov. 30.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Practice window opens
The Commanders announced Thursday that Jackson (knee) has been designated for return from IR.
Jackson spent the entire 2024 season and half of 2023 on injured reserve due to a significant knee injury. The fourth-year player has 21 days to string together enough practices to officially be activated. However, Thursday was a step in the right direction, as he was limited in practice.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Sent to IR
The Commanders placed Jackson (foot) on injured reserve Thursday.
Jackson inked a deal with Washington on Wednesday but apparently still needs more time to recover from the serious knee injury that forced him to miss all of the 2024 campaign and half of 2023. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that this was always the Commanders' plan, and that the team intends for Jackson to get healthy and provide a late-season boost.

Commanders' Drake Jackson: Lands in Washington
The Commanders signed Jackson to a contract Wednesday.
Jackson has been fully cleared from the serious knee injury that forced him to miss all of 2024 and half of the 2023 campaign, and he's now set to handle a reserve role on defense for Washington. The 2022 second-round pick's first opportunity to debut for his new team will come Sunday on the road against the Cowboys.

Drake Jackson: Ready to be signed
Jackson has been cleared from his knee injury and has visits scheduled with the Commanders, Jets and Ravens next week, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Jackson missed half of the 2023 season and all of the 2024 campaign with a serious knee injury, but it now appears he could be ready to get back on the field for a willing suitor. He's appeared in just 23 games since being selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the 49ers.

Drake Jackson: Dropped by San Francisco
Jackson (knee) was waived with a failed physical designation Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The 2022 second-round pick from USC is still rehabbing from the knee injury that caused him to miss the final 12 games of 2023 (including the playoffs) and all of 2024. Jackson has appeared in just 23 regular-season contests since being drafted, recording 21 total tackles, including 6.0 sacks, and nine passes defended across 490 defensive snaps. Once he proves he's past this knee injury, Jackson could offer defensive-line depth to a team in need of edge rushers.
