Top Dalton Kincaid News

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Making progress in recovery

Kincaid (hamstring) is improving in his recovery, head coach Sean McDermott said Friday, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.

Kincaid hasn't practiced or played since hurting his hamstring in Buffalo's Week 10 loss to the Dolphins. After Thursday's loss to the Texans, the Bills don't play again until Nov. 30 at Pittsburgh. If Kincaid resumes practicing prior to that game, that could put him on track to return against the Steelers.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Ruled out for TNF

Bills coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday that Kincaid (hamstring) is ruled out for Thursday's road contest against the Texans, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.

McDermott's announcement doesn't come as much of a surprise, as Kincaid was labeled week-to-week after injuring his hamstring Week 10 versus the Dolphins and hasn't practiced in any capacity since. His next chance to return to action will come Sunday, Nov. 30 on the road against Pittsburgh in Week 13, while Dawson Knox will start at tight end for Buffalo on Thursday, with Jackson Hawes operating in the No. 2 role.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Unable to practice Monday

Bills coach Sean McDermott said Kincaid (hamstring) will be listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice report, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.

Buffalo will host a walkthrough Monday, but Kincaid's hamstring injury will nonetheless keep him from participating in any capacity. That bodes poorly for the starting tight end's odds of gaining clearance in time for Thursday's road matchup against the Texans, especially given that he's been labeled "week-to-week" and has missed only one contest so far. Dawson Knox played 75 percent of the offensive snaps versus the Buccaneers in Week 11 with Kincaid sidelined, though he secured just one catch for 23 yards (on three targets).

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Not practicing Tuesday

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that Kincaid (hamstring) won't participate in Tuesday's walk-through practice, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.

Since Tuesday represents the Bills' most extensive on-field work of the week, Kincaid appears likely to remain out for a second straight game Thursday versus the Texans. While Kincaid sat out the Bills' Week 11 win over the Buccaneers, Dawson Knox operated as the clear top tight end, logging 77 percent of the offensive snaps and recording one catch for 23 yards on three targets. Jackson Hawes served as the No. 2 option at the position, playing 34 percent of the snaps without drawing a target.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Ruled out for Sunday

Coach Sean McDermott noted Friday that Kincaid (hamstring) won't play Sunday against the Buccaneers, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.

Kincaid thus will target a potential return to action this coming Thursday, when the Bills face the Texans on the road. In Kincaid's absence this weekend, Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes are slated to handle Buffalo's tight end duties versus Tampa Bay, a context that makes Knox a streaming option to consider Week 11.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Not seen at practice Thursday

Kincaid (hamstring) wasn't spotted at practice Thursday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.

With back-to-back 'DNPs' looming, Kincaid's status for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers looks cloudy at this stage. If Kincaid ends up ruled out for the contest come Friday, fellow tight ends Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes would be on track to see added snaps and targets this weekend.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Not practicing Wednesday

Kincaid (hamstring) won't practice Wednesday, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.

Kincaid now has two more opportunities to make a practice appearance before the Bills assign injury designations ahead of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. If he's limited or out this weekend, fellow TEs Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes would be in line to see added snaps/targets in Week 11.

  • Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Considered week-to-week

Kincaid is week-to-week after suffering a hamstring injury during Sunday's loss to the Dolphins, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.

Kincaid secured two of three targets for 37 yards before being forced out of Sunday's divisional loss in the third quarter. He appears to be dealing with an injury severe enough to keep him sidelined Week 11 versus the Buccaneers and potentially longer, though the Bills haven't yet provided an estimated timetable for third-year pro's recovery. Kincaid has emerged as one of Josh Allen's clear top targets in the passing game alongside wide receiver Khalil Shakir, and any missed games on his part will thrust Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes into expanded roles at tight end.

Before sustaining his hamstring injury, Kincaid ended up catching two of his three targets in the contest for 37 yards. He'll now target a potential return to action next Sunday against the Buccaneers. For now, Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes are the Bills' healthy tight ends.
