Colts' Mekhi Blackmon: Three tackles in Colts debut
Blackmon had three total tackles in Sunday's win over Miami.
It was an encouraging game for Blackmon in his first action since 2023 after missing all of last season due to a knee injury. He played on 22 of the defense's 47 snaps, as he'll have a reserve role in the secondary. His playing time could increase due to Jaylon Jones suffering a hamstring injury in Sunday's win.

Colts' Mekhi Blackmon: Dealt to Indy
The Vikings traded Blackmon to the Colts in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick Monday.
Blackmon will head to Indianapolis after missing the entirety of the 2024 campaign while recovering from a torn ACL. The cornerback was selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Vikings, compiling 41 total tackles (34 solo), eight passes defensed, including an interception, and a fumble recovery over 15 regular-season contests in his rookie campaign. Blackmon will now step into a prominent reserve role in the Colts' secondary behind starters Charvarius Ward and Jaylon Jones in 2025.

Vikings' Mekhi Blackmon: Records five tackles
Blackmon (knee) recorded five tackles (four solo) in Saturday's preseason opener against the Texans.
Blackmon tore his ACL in training camp last summer and missed the entire 2024 season. Now fully recovered, Blackmon led the Vikings in tackles versus Houston, while playing 34 defensive snaps. A third-round pick in 2023, Blackmon is expected to have a significant role in Minnesota's secondary this season.

Vikings' Mekhi Blackmon: Nearing return to full strength
Coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday that Blackmon is finishing up his ACL rehab and is expected to return to football activities by the end of the spring, Ben Goessling of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Blackmon tore his ACL during the first practice of Minnesota's training camp in 2024, ending his second pro season before it even started. Now, it looks like he has a good chance to enter this year's training camp with a clean slate. With Stephon Gilmore and Shaquill Griffin looking unlikely to play for the Vikings again in 2025, Blackmon may currently be one of the team's most encouraging assets at cornerback besides Byron Murphy.
