Colts' JuJu Brents: Returns to practice
Brents returned to practice Wednesday after missing three weeks due to a hamstring injury, the Indianapolis Star reports.
Both Brents and Jaylon Jones returned to practice, so Indy's secondary is looking healthier as the regular season draws near. Brents missed most of last season after injuring his knee in the 2024 season opener. He missed the next 15 games before playing six defensive snaps in Week 18, only to then injure his groin. Brents has played in just 11 regular-season games since being taken in the second round of the 2023 Draft.

Colts' JuJu Brents: Remains without timetable
Coach Shane Steichen said Sunday that Brents (hamstring) remains without a timetable for return, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Brents was injured two weeks ago and had been idle in practice before missing Thursday's preseason opener against the Ravens. Brents missed most of last season after injuring his knee in the 2024 season opener. He missed the next 15 games before playing six defensive snaps in Week 18, only to then injure his groin. Brents has played in just 11 regular-season games since being taken in the second round of the 2023 Draft.

Colts' JuJu Brents: Dealing with hamstring issue
Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Tuesday that Brents is nursing a hamstring injury, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Brents got healthy from his groin injury during OTAs, but he's now sustained another soft tissue issue early during training camp. Fellow cornerback Jaylon Jones (hamstring) was carted off Tuesday due to a hamstring injury of his own. With both Brents and Jones sidelined, rookie third-round pick Justin Walley figures to benefit from increased reps at camp.

Colts' JuJu Brents: Back on field
Brents (groin) participated in Wednesday's organized team activities, Paul Bretl of USA Today reports.
Brents sustained a groin injury during Indianapolis' 2024 season finale, but his participation in Wednesday's OTAs suggests he's moved past the issue. The third-year corner from Kansas State has struggled to stay healthy in the NFL, appearing in just 11 regular-season games throughout his career. In that span, Brents has tallied 57 total tackles, six passes defended, including one interception, and one forced fumble. Now fully healthy, he's expected to serve as one of Indianapolis' top reserve cornerbacks in 2025.

Colts' JuJu Brents: Exits game due to groin injury
Brents (groin) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Jaguars, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Brents injured his groin during a Colts' punt return in the first quarter. Sunday's contest is Brents' first game back since tearing his MCL and meniscus in Week 1 against the Texans. Samuel Womack and Kenny Moore are candidate to fill in at outside corner opposite starter Jaylon Jones for as long as Brents is sidelined.

Colts' JuJu Brents: Activated, good to go for Week 18
Brents (knee) was activated off IR on Saturday and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's matchup versus Jacksonville.
Brents had been on injured reserve since Sept. 10 after suffering a knee injury in Week 1 against Houston. The second-year cornerback resumed practicing Dec. 18, and though the Colts are out of playoff contention, he'll be able to take the field for the team's season finale against the Jaguars. Samuel Womack has worked as a starter most of the campaign with Brents sidelined, but Womack could yield some defensive snaps Sunday to the returning Brents.

Colts' JuJu Brents: Hopeful to play in Week 18
Brents (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars after logging a full practice Friday.
Brents was the starting outside corner in Week 1 against the Texans, but he suffered a torn MCL and meniscus in his knee during that game. The injury has forced him to be sidelined for the Colts' last 15 games, but he told reporters after Friday's practice that his goal since the injury was to return this season and that he hopes to play in Sunday's regular-season finale, per Joel Erickson of the Indianapolis Star. The Colts would have to activate Brents off injured reserve in order for the 2023 second-round pick to play Sunday.

Colts' JuJu Brents: Not playing Sunday
Brents (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Brents was a full practice participant all week as he works his way back from an MCL injury he suffered in the Colts' regular-season opener against the Texans. However, the 2023 second-round pick will remain on IR, and it's unclear whether he'll be activated for the Colts' regular-season finale against the Jaguars.

Colts' JuJu Brents: Questionable for Week 17
Brents (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants after logging a full practice Friday, JJ Stankevitz of the Colts' official site reports.
Brents is in the final stages of his recovery from an MCL injury, which caused him to go on injured reserve Sept. 10. He was a full participant in practice all week, but he'll need to be activated off IR in order to play Sunday. Brents has played in 10 regular-season games since being selected by Indianapolis in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Colts' JuJu Brents: Not returning Week 16
Brents (knee) won't be activated from IR on Saturday and has been downgraded to out for Sunday's tilt against the Titans.
Brents will remain on IR -- where's he's been since Sept. 10 -- for another week. The second-year cornerback did manage to log a trio of limited practices this week after being designated to return Wednesday, so it's still possible he will get back on the field before the end of the regular season. Brents' next opportunity to play will come Sunday, Dec. 29 versus the Giants.

Colts' JuJu Brents: Questionable for Week 16
Brents (knee) was a limited participant in Friday's practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Brents was placed on injured reserve in mid-September after suffering an MCL injury against the Texans in Week 1. The injury was severe enough to require surgery, but he was able to progress in his recovery enough to return to practice Wednesday. If Brents isn't activated off IR ahead of Sunday's AFC South clash, his next opportunity to play will be Week 17 against the Giants on Sunday, Dec. 29.

Colts' JuJu Brents: Ready to practice
Colts head coach Shane Steichen announced Wednesday that Brents (knee) has been designated for return from injured reserve.
Brents' 21-day practice window will officially open, and he can be added back to the 53-man roster at any point during that timeframe. The 2023 second-round pick is thus eligible to return to action as early as Sunday's game against the Titans, if Indianapolis makes the corresponding transaction. Brents is working his way back from an MCL injury that's kept him sidelined since the Colts' regular-season opener and required surgery.
