  • Browns' Darius Rush: Gets opportunity with Browns

Cleveland signed Rush (undisclosed) to a contract Monday, per the team's official site.

Rush signed with the Chiefs in February but was waived from injured reserve with an injury settlement Friday. It's not clear what type of issue he was dealing with, but the South Carolina product appears to now be healthy given his signing with Cleveland. Rush will have the opportunity to compete for a depth role in the Browns' secondary after playing in two regular-season games with Pittsburgh last year and logging 18 special-teams snaps.

Rush was set to miss the entire 2025 season after reverting to IR this past Saturday, but he'll now have the opportunity to sign with a team once he's fully healthy. • Steelers' Darius Rush: In concussion protocol

Coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Rush is in the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.

Rush will need to gain full medical clearance in order to suit up Sunday on the road against Denver. Tomlin said there is a "level of anticipation" that Rush will be cleared for Week 2, at least. He played exclusively on special teams during Pittsburgh's win over the Falcons in Week 1.
