Ravens' Alohi Gilman: Acquired by Baltimore
The Ravens acquired Gilman and a 2026 fifth-round pick from the Chargers in exchange for Odafe Oweh and a 2027 seventh-round pick Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
The 1-4 Ravens have been churning the roster on defense a bit Tuesday, first signing veteran C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the practice squad before acquiring Gilman from Los Angeles. Gilman was a sixth-round pick by the Chargers in 2020 and has appeared in 73 career regular-season games, making 39 starts. He's started 30 games over the last three seasons, including the first five of 2025 for Los Angeles. On 87 percent of the defensive snaps this season, Gilman has recorded 22 tackles (11 solo) and three pass breakups. With Kyle Hamilton nursing a groin injury, Gilman could start immediately alongside first-round rookie safety Malaki Starks.

Chargers' Alohi Gilman: Looks ready to take step forward
Gilman recorded nine tackles (four solo) in Friday's 27-21 win over the Chiefs.
Gilman led all Chargers defenders in total snaps, including 61 defensive snaps with seven additional on special teams. He also led the team in stops while serving as the primary free safety. Gilman has a career high of 73 tackles, so he could be in line for increased production in 2025.

Chargers' Alohi Gilman: Registers 50 tackles in 2024
Gilman played 11 regular-season games in 2024 and finished with 50 tackles (34 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and four pass defenses (including one interception).
Gilman missed five of six regular-season games due to a hamstring injury, which was severe enough for him to be placed on injured reserve in late November. He was activated off IR ahead of the Chargers' regular-season finale against the Raiders, and he played every single defensive snap in the Bolts' wild-card loss against the Texans, finishing with 10 tackles (four solo), one pass defense and one forced fumble. Gilman and Derwin James will likely serve as the Chargers' starting safeties for the 2025 campaign.

Chargers' Alohi Gilman: Comes off IR on Saturday
The Chargers activated Gilman (hamstring), who remains questionable for Sunday's matchup versus Las Vegas, off injured reserve Saturday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Gilman had been on IR since Nov. 30 due to a hamstring injury. He was designated to return Wednesday and logged an LP/LP/FP practice progression this week. Gilman's activation means he could play Sunday against the Raiders, but if he doesn't suit up, Tony Jefferson may log another start at safety.

Chargers' Alohi Gilman: Questionable for Week 18
Gilman (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reports.
Gilman missed the Chargers' last five games due to a knee injury that was severe enough for him to be placed on injured reserve in late November. He returned to practice Wednesday and logged an LP/LP/FP practice log throughout the week. Gilman would need to be activated from IR in order to play in Sunday's regular-season finale.

Chargers' Alohi Gilman: Set to return to practice
The Chargers designated Gilman (hamstring) for return from injured reserve Wednesday, Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reports.
Gilman landed on IR on Nov. 30 and has been rehabbing since. By being designated to return, the Notre Dame product will be able to resume practicing, and the Chargers will have 21 days to activate him. It's not yet clear if Gilman will return to action this Sunday against Las Vegas, but with the Chargers having locked up a playoff spot, it's possible that he'll be ready to boost the team's secondary in the postseason.

Chargers' Alohi Gilman: Lands on IR due to hamstring injury
The Chargers placed Gilman (hamstring) on injured reserve Saturday.
Gilman injured his hamstring during the Chargers' Week 13 loss to the Ravens, and the injury is severe enough to warrant a multi-week absence. The 2020 sixth-round pick will be required to miss at least the next four games, making Week 17 against the Patriots on Sunday, Dec. 29 the earliest he can return. Elijah Molden is the top candidate to start at free safety alongside strong safety Derwin James in Gilman's absence.

Chargers' Alohi Gilman: Ruled out for Week 13
Gilman (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's clash against Atlanta.
Gilman didn't practice at all this week due to a hamstring injury, and as a consequence he'll miss his first game since Week 2. His absence further thins a Chargers secondary that also will be without cornerbacks Cam Hart (concussion/ankle), Eli Apple (hamstring) and Asante Samuel (shoulder). Marcus Maye -- who the Chargers picked up off waivers Wednesday -- could immediately log significant defensive snaps in Gilman's absence Sunday.

Chargers' Alohi Gilman: Nursing hamstring injury
Gilman (hamstring) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Gilman played 40 defensive snaps and logged one pass defense during the Chargers' 30-23 loss to the Ravens this past Monday. However, the fifth-year safety may have picked up a hamstring injury in the process, which forced him to be sidelined for Wednesday's practice. Gilman will have two more chances this week to return to practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Falcons.
