  • Rams' Jarquez Hunter: Makes debut on special teams

Hunter logged six snaps on special teams during Sunday's 33-19 win against the Titans.

Hunter made his regular-season debut Sunday after being a healthy scratch in Week 1, but he never got an opportunity to take the field on offense. Kyren Williams (17-66-0) and Blake Corum (5-44-1) handled the entire rushing load for the Rams, and given head coach Sean McVay's proclivity to feed Williams the vast majority of touches at running back over the past few seasons, Hunter will likely find it hard to make an impact this year barring an injury ahead of him on the depth chart.

  • Rams' Jarquez Hunter: Not playing vs. Houston

Hunter (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Texans, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

Hunter is a healthy scratch Sunday, and the rookie fourth-rounder's next opportunity to make his NFL regular-season debut is Week 2 against the Titans on Sunday, Sept. 14. Cody Schrader and Blake Corum will serve as the Rams' backup running backs behind Kyren Williams.

  • Rams' Jarquez Hunter: Little running room Saturday

Hunter carried the ball seven times for 14 yards in Saturday's 19-17 preseason loss to the Browns.

The 2025 fourth-round pick got the start due to both Kyren Williams and Blake Corum being held out of the Rams' exhibition finale, and Hunter worked the team's first three drives before handing the backfield over to Cody Schrader. Hunter's role as the No. 3 RB seems secure, but the rookie is unlikely to see a lot of action in the regular season barring injuries ahead of him -- Corum, a third-round pick last year, saw only 65 touches over 17 games in his first NFL campaign.

  • Rams' Jarquez Hunter: Another heavy workload

Hunter rushed the ball 15 times for 55 yards in Saturday's 23-22 preseason win over the Chargers. He added one reception on one target for two yards.

Kyren Williams was rested, leaving Blake Corum as the starting back for the Rams. Hunter entered the game after one possession, but he appears to still be third on the depth chart entering the team's final preseason contest. He did show the ability to break tackles on a few of his carries while carrying a heavy workload in his second contest as a pro.

  • Rams' Jarquez Hunter: Gets 11 carries in preseason win

Hunter rushed 11 times for 41 yards and wasn't targeted in Saturday's 31-21 preseason win over the Cowboys. He also had a 21-yard kickoff return.

Hunter returned the opening kickoff but didn't get his first touch on offense until the Rams' second drive. Both that possession and the first one were capped by Blake Corum touchdown runs, as Corum took advantage of the team sitting starter Kyren Williams. Hunter continued to play into the second half, and it looks like the rookie fourth-round pick is sitting firmly in third on the running depth chart behind Williams and Corum heading into the Rams' second preseason game against the Chargers on Aug. 16.
