  • Texans' Jaylin Noel: Another solid showing in win

Noel brought in five of six targets for 63 yards in the Texans' 26-15 win over the 49ers on Sunday. He also logged two punt returns for 11 yards.

Noel finished tied for the team lead in receptions and for runner-up status in targets while also finishing second in receiving yards. It was the second straight productive showing in less than a week for the rookie third-round pick, who'd also produced a career-best 77 receiving yards on four catches during the Week 7 Monday night loss to the Seahawks. The absences of Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring) have both played a part in Noel's recent surge -- Collins exited early in the fourth quarter in Seattle while Kirk has missed the last two games -- but Noel could be carving out a larger role for himself that will endure even when his veteran teammates are back in action. Noel also reclaimed his duty on special teams as a punt returner following a one-week hiatus when Braxton Berrios handled that chore.

  • Texans' Jaylin Noel: Gains 77 yards on MNF

Noel hauled in four of seven targets for 77 yards in Monday's 27-19 loss to the Seahawks.

Fresh off his first career touchdown reception in Week 6, Noel followed that up with a season-high 77 receiving yards on Monday Night Football. The absence of Christian Kirk (hamstring) helped elevate the rookie's role, and it is currently unclear how much time the veteran slot receiver will miss. No. 1 wideout Nico Collins (concussion) also left Monday's loss late in the fourth quarter, so the Texans may ask Noel to continue serving an elevated role if either starter is forced to miss Sunday's contest against the 49ers.

  • Texans' Jaylin Noel: May benefit from Kirk's absence

Noel could be in line for more playing time in Monday's game at Seattle with Christian Kirk (hamstring) ruled out for the contest, Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Noel is coming off a promising showing in the Texans' win over the Ravens in Week 5 when he caught two of three targets and scored his first NFL touchdown. When Kirk is healthy, Noel has operated as the team's fifth wideout, but he'll move up a rung on the depth chart in Week 7. Houston is expected to deploy a game plan that focuses on running the ball Monday, but if the Seahawks second-ranked run defense (79.0 yards per game allowed) shuts down the ground game, then Noel and the receivers could take on a greater profile on offense.

  • Texans' Jaylin Noel: Scores first NFL TD

Noel caught two of three targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 44-10 win over Baltimore in Week 5. He also had one carry for five yards, one kickoff return for 31 yards and one punt return for 12 yards.

Noel was on the receiving end of a four-yard touchdown pass from C.J. Stroud early in the fourth quarter that upped Houston's advantage to 41-10. It was the first NFL touchdown for the rookie wideout, who then engendered some ill on the road by mimicking the dance of legendary Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis. Noel, who has five catches (on seven targets) for 22 yards through five games, has mostly contributed on special teams as a returner.

  • Texans' Jaylin Noel: Targeted once in win

Noel caught his lone target for minus-2 yards and returned three punts for 15 yards in Sunday's 26-0 win over Tennessee in Week 4.

Noel, who continued to play a limited role on offense, has caught three of four targets for nine yards through the first quarter of the season. He does have a more significant role on special teams as a punt returner and sometimes kickoff returner, although he was replaced on kickoffs Sunday by Tremon Smith.

  • Texans' Jaylin Noel: Reduced snaps on offense

Noel caught his lone target for four yards, returned two punts for 11 yards and two kickoffs for 53 yards in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Jaguars.

Noel was the wideout most impacted by the season debut of Christian Kirk, who missed the first two weeks with a hamstring injury. Noel played nine snaps, his fewest in the first three games. He did, however, maintain a role in the return game with a healthy Braxton Berrios inactive Sunday.

  • Texans' Jaylin Noel: Contributes as returner

Noel was not targeted on offense and amassed 145 return yards on punts and kicks in Monday's 20-19 loss to the Buccaneers.

Noel was given the fewest offensive snaps (15) among Houston's wide receivers, but he impacted the game on special teams. He averaged 26.0 yards on three kickoff returns and 22.3 on punt returns, including a 53-yarder that set up the Texans' final score with just over two minutes left. Noel has done little offensively in his first two weeks in the NFL, but he's seizing his opportunity on special teams with Braxton Berrios (hamstring) unavailable.

  • Texans' Jaylin Noel: Disappointing debut Sunday

Noel had one reception on two targets for seven yards in Sunday's 14-9 loss to the Rams.

The third-round rookie failed to capitalize on the absence of wideouts Christian Kirk (hamstring) and Braxton Berrios (hamstring). Noel finished with the lowest output of any player with a reception while finishing in a tie for eighth among Houston receivers in targets. With Kirk expected to return soon, Noel's fantasy prospects appear bleak to begin the fantasy campaign.
