Maurice Ffrench: Cut loose Monday
Ffrench was waived by the Chargers on Monday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Ffrench was one of five players let go by the Chargers on Monday as the team begins the process of shrinking down its 90-man offseason roster. The 2020 undrafted free agent was elevated from the Bolts' practice squad for three games between Weeks 9 and 16 last season, though he only played two offensive snaps over this span. Ffrench will now pass through waivers before hitting free agency, should he go unclaimed.

The Chargers signed Ffrench to a reserve/future contract Tuesday.
The wide receiver was active for three games with the Chargers this season but played only two total offensive snaps. Ffrench will return to the team in 2022, looking to work his way toward a larger role.

Ffrench played two offensive snaps and ran one time for three yards. He also played three special-team snaps and returned a kickoff for 17 yards. If Mike Williams and Jalen Guyton are unable to clear protocols this week, Ffrench may garner a similar workload in Week 17.

The undrafted rookie has seen action with the Chargers twice this season, but in both cases the wide receiver only saw time on special teams. Even with Mike Williams and Jalen Guyton on the reserve/COVID-19 list, it's hard to imagine Ffrench really emerging as a key target come Sunday.

Chiefs' Maurice Ffrench: Back in KC
Ffrench signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Ffrench spent last training camp in Kansas City as an undrafted free agent but was ultimately waived before the beginning of the regular season. He'll now get another opportunity to grow in the system during the upcoming offseason.

The Chiefs waived Ffrench on Saturday, Nick Jacobs of 41 KSHB Kansas City reports.
Ffrench was quite productive but not very efficient in his final collegiate season at Pittsburgh, catching 96 passes for 850 yards (8.9 yards per reception) and four touchdowns over 11 games. The undrafted free agent couldn't secure a spot in the Chiefs' deep receiver room.
