Dolphins' Tyrel Dodson: Won't play Week 6
Dodson (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Dodson remains in concussion protocol after being concussed in this past Sunday's loss to the Panthers. His next chance to take the field will come Oct. 19 in Cleveland, though Dodson would first have to clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol and return to practice. K.J. Britt will likely see additional action in Dodson's absence.

Dolphins' Tyrel Dodson: Sidelined to begin week
Dodson (concussion) did not practice Wednesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Dodson suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Panthers, so it's not a significant surprise that he wasn't available to practice Wednesday. He'll need to clear the league's protocol to be eligible to play in Week 6 against the Chargers.

Dolphins' Tyrel Dodson: In concussion protocol
Head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed Monday that Dodson is in concussion protocol following Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Panthers, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Prior to Dodson's concussion in Week 5, he tallied four total tackles across 43 defensive snaps. The veteran linebacker from Texas A&M now must clear concussion protocol in order to suit up for Miami's Week 6 matchup against the Chargers. If he's unable to play, expect K.J. Britt to handle the Dolphins' top inside-linebacker duties.

Dolphins' Tyrel Dodson: Won't return due to head injury
Dodson has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Panthers due to a head injury.
Dodson appeared to suffer the injury in the third quarter and, after being evaluated by medical staff on the sidelines, he will not return. K.J. Britt will take over at middle linebacker for the rest of Sunday's game in Dodson's absence.

Dodson recorded nine tackles (five solo) including 1.0 sacks and a forced fumble during Monday's 27-21 win versus the Jets.
Late in the second quarter of Monday's contest, Dodson snuck around the edge on a delayed blitz and swiped the football out of quarterback Justin Fields' hands, ultimately forcing the second Jets turnover of the day. It was his second straight game with a sack. He projects as a plus IDP play heading into a Week 5 tilt at Carolina.
