  • Raiders' Albert Okwuegbunam: Back to practice squad

Okwuegbunam reverted to the Raiders' practice squad Monday.

Okwuegbunam was elevated to the Raiders' active roster for a second straight game in Sunday's 40-6 loss to the colts. He didn't end up playing in the Week 4 loss to the Bears, but he saw the field for 31 offensive snaps Sunday due to the absences of Brock Bowers (knee) and Michael Mayer (concussion) at tight end. Okwuegbunam took advantage of the additional playing time, finishing the Week 5 loss with five catches (on six targets) for 36 yards. Okwuegbunam would be in line to be elevated to Las Vegas' active roster for Week 6 against the Titans if one or both of Bowers and Mayer aren't cleared to play.

The Raiders elevated Okwuegbunam from their practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's matchup versus the Colts.

Okwuegbunam will provide extra depth at tight end, as Michael Mayer (concussion) isn't expected to play, and Brock Bowers (knee) is also dealing with an injury. This is the second straight week the team has elevated Okwuegbunam, although he didn't see the field during last week's loss versus the Bears.

Okwuegbunam reverted to the Raiders' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Okwuegbunam was elevated to the Raiders' practice squad to provide depth after Michael Mayer was ruled out with a concussion. Although Okwuegbunam was active for the game, he did not play a single snap as Brock Bowers and Ian Thomas handled all the snaps on offense. Okwuegbunam is eligible to be elevated to the active roster two more times this season.

  • Raiders' Albert Okwuegbunam: Elevated from practice squad

The Raiders elevated Okwuegbunam from their practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's matchup versus the Bears.

Okwuegbunam will likely serve as the team's No. 3 tight end Sunday behind Brock Bowers and Ian Thomas, as Michael Mayer has been ruled out with a concussion. Okwuegbunam can contribute on both offense and special teams. He will be eligible to be elevated two more times this season.

  • Albert Okwuegbunam: Remaining with Raiders

Las Vegas signed Okwuegbunam to its practice squad Wednesday.

Okwuegbunam was a casualty of cutdown day Tuesday but will remain with Las Vegas. The veteran tight end hasn't logged a regular-season NFL snap since he played in four games with Philadelphia in 2023.

  • Albert Okwuegbunam: Cut by Las Vegas

The Raiders released Okwuegbunam on Tuesday.

Okwuegbunam caught on with the Raiders in early August after being let go by the Colts on July 31, and across Las Vegas' three preseason games he logged three catches (on five targets) for 24 yards. The 2020 fourth-rounder wasn't able to grab a spot on the Raiders' 53-man roster, but he could stay in Las Vegas as a member of the team's practice squad.

  • Raiders' Albert Okwuegbunam: Catches on with Las Vegas

The Raiders signed Okwuegbunam on Sunday.

Okwuegbunam was let go by the Colts on Thursday, but he'll have another opportunity to earn a spot on an NFL roster after inking a deal with the Raiders. Okwuegbunam last saw regular-season action in 2023 with the Eagles, when he appeared in four games and failed to haul in his lone target. The 2020 fourth-rounder will compete with Justin Shorter, Ian Thomas and Michael Mayer for backup tight end duties behind Brock Bowers.

  • Albert Okwuegbunam: Let go by Indianapolis

The Colts cut Okwuegbunam on Thursday.

Okwuegbunam signed with the Colts' practice squad last December but didn't appear in a regular-season game during the 2024 campaign. The 27-year-old clearly didn't show enough in practice this offseason behind Tyler Warren, Mo Alie-Cox, Drew Ogletree, Jelani Woods and Will Mallory. Okwuegbunam's NFL career appears to be running on fumes, with him having last logged a regular-season reception back in the 2022 campaign with Denver.

  • Colts' Albert Okwuegbunam: Inks futures deal with Indy

The Colts signed Okwuegbunam to a reserve/futures contract Monday.

Okwuegbunam joined Indianapolis' practice squad mid-December, and he'll now get a chance to continue his development with the team during the offseason. Prior to landing with the Colts, Okwuegbunam suited up for four regular-season games with the Eagles and failed to secure his only target.

  • Albert Okwuegbunam: Joins Colts' practice squad

Indianapolis signed Okwuegbunam to its practice squad Tuesday.

Okwuegbunam worked out with the Colts shortly after being cut by Philadelphia back in November, and now he's officially working with a new organization. Indianapolis already has four healthy tight ends on its 53-man roster, though, so it will probably take at least one injury for him to get any action with the main unit.

  • Albert Okwuegbunam: Gets workout in Los Angeles

The Chargers worked out Okwuegbunam on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Okwuegbunam has been busy, working out with the Colts on Tuesday before having a workout with the Chargers on Friday. The Missouri product's most recent in-game action came in 2023 with the Eagles, when he appeared in four contests and didn't haul in his lone target across 55 offensive snaps. Okwuegbunam could find work with the Chargers' practice squad if Friday's tryout goes well.

  • Albert Okwuegbunam: Works out with Colts

Okwuegbunam had a tryout with the Colts on Tuesday, Howard Balzer of USA Today reports.

Okwuegbunam spent most of the season on the Eagles' injured reserve list after having a core muscle procedure in late August. After his 21-day window was opened Oct. 16, the team took a decision on bringing him back to the active roster down to the wire before cutting him loose Nov. 5. With a tryout under his belt with another organization, though, he's presumably back to full health.

  • Albert Okwuegbunam: Let go by Philadelphia

The Eagles cut Okwuegbunam (abdomen) on Tuesday.

Okwuegbunam began the regular season on injured reserve after undergoing a core muscle repair procedure at the conclusion of training camp. His 21-day practice window opened Oct. 16, and he was close to being activated off IR as he was able to log full practices leading up to Week 9 against the Jaguars. The 2020 fourth-round pick could stick around in Philadelphia on the practice squad or look to catch on with another team in need of depth at tight end.

  • Eagles' Albert Okwuegbunam: Staying on IR

Okwuegbunam (abdomen) has not been activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Jaguars, per the NFL's transaction log.

Okwuegbunam started the regular season on injured reserve after undergoing a core muscle repair procedure at the end of training camp. His 21-day practice window to return from IR opened Oct. 16, and while he doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game, he will be sidelined for that contest. Okwuegbunam will need to be activated off IR leading up to Week 10 against the Cowboys, otherwise he'll be forced to sit for the entire 2024 regular season, per Anthony DiBona of Philly Sports Network.

  • Eagles' Albert Okwuegbunam: On cusp of return

Okwuegbunam (abdomen) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's matchup with the Jaguars.

Okwuegbunam logged three full practices this week as he closes in on the end of his 21-day practice window, which expires on Nov. 6. The tight end needs to be activated from injured reserve by that date or he'll remain sidelined for the remainder of the season. Considering his participation level this week, he has a good shot of making his 2024 debut against Jacksonville in Week 9.

  • Eagles' Albert Okwuegbunam: Logs full practice Wednesday

Okwuegbunam (abdomen) was a full participant during Wednesday's practice session.

Okwuegbunam started the regular season on injured reserve after undergoing a core muscle repair procedure. His 21-day practice window opened Oct. 16, and despite logging full practices since then, he has not been activated from IR. If Okwuegbunam is able to practice in full over the next two days, he'll give himself a good chance of making his regular-season debut against the Jaguars on Sunday.

  • Eagles' Albert Okwuegbunam: Not activated for Week 8

The Eagles did not activate Okwuegbunam (abdomen) from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Bengals, Chris McPherson of the Eagles' official site reports.

Okwuegbunam has been on IR all season while recovering from the core-muscle surgery he underwent in August, but he looks to be back to 100 percent after turning in a trio of full practices in both of the past two weeks. He didn't carry a designation into Sunday's contest, but the Eagles won't look to open up a spot on the 53-man roster for him just yet, even with top tight end Dallas Goedert (hamstring) set to miss a second straight game. Okwuegbunam's 21-day evaluation window will come to a close Nov. 6, so the Eagles will have to activate him by then, or else he won't be eligible to play this season.

  • Eagles' Albert Okwuegbunam: Could play Week 8

Okwuegbunam (abdomen) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Despite Okwuegbunam having no injury designation, he'll still have to be activated from injured reserve by Saturday in order to play Sunday. With Dallas Goedert (hamstring) set to miss a second consecutive game in Week 8, Okwuegbunam could have an opportunity to serve as a secondary pass-catching option at tight end behind Grant Calcaterra.

  • Eagles' Albert Okwuegbunam: Not activated for Week 7

Okwuegbunam (abdomen) was not activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants.

Okwuegbunam had his 21-day practice window opened earlier this week on Wednesday, but he's not yet ready to return to game action. He'll miss a sixth straight game to open the 2024 campaign, and it's notable with Dallas Goedert (hamstring) ruled out for Week 7. Grant Calcaterra is expected to handle pass-catching duties at tight end for the Eagles against the Giants, while Jack Stoll likely focuses on the blocking responsibilities.
