Adams (quadriceps) is active Sunday against the Seahawks, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Adams will make his 2024 debut after spending the first four weeks of the season on IR. The Houston product will be a depth option at linebacker for the G-men, but he'll likely see most of his work on special teams.

Giants' Matthew Adams: Comes off injured reserve
The Giants activated Adams (quadriceps) from injured reserve Saturday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Adams began the regular season on injured reserve after injuring his groin during training camp. He was designated to return from IR on Wednesday, and while he was a full participant in all three practices week, he is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Seahawks due to a quadriceps injury. Adams played mostly on special teams with the Browns in 2023 and finished with 17 tackles (11 solo) and one forced fumble over 17 regular-season games.

Adams (groin) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, opening up a 21-day practice window, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Adams suffered a groin injury in the Giants' second preseason game, was placed on injured reserve and missed the first four games of 2024. The linebacker was a full participant at practice Wednesday according to Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site, suggesting that he's relatively close to making his return to game action.

Adams went down with a groin injury in New York's second preseason game Aug. 17 versus the Texans. He was designated to return from IR, meaning that he'll miss at least the first four games of the 2024 season before he's first eligible to return in Week 5 against the Seahawks on Oct. 6.

Browns' Matthew Adams: Dealing with calf injury
Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Thursday that Adams (calf) will miss a couple of weeks, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Adams has mostly contributed on special teams in his five-year NFL career but was able to record 187 snaps on defense and 26 tackles last year with the Bears, both of which were the most since 2018. The timing of Adams' injury could make it difficult for him to get healthy in time for the Aug. 3 preseason matchup against the Jets, but it could be more doable for him to be back for the Browns' Aug. 11 encounter with the Commanders. Once healthy, he's set to compete for a depth/special teams role.

Adams posted 26 tackles across 10 games for the Bears in 2022, but the majority of his production came over the final seven weeks of the season. The 2018 seventh-round pick started his career with the Colts and worked with current Browns special teams coordinator Bubba Ventrone, who held the same title during Adams' time in Indianapolis.

Adams notched two tackles in the Bears' 29-13 loss to the Vikings in Week 18, and ended the season with 26 tackles and a forced fumble over 10 games played.
Adams missed seven games with a calf injury, and in the nine games he played, he had two or fewer tackles in six of them. However, on a per-game basis, this was the most productive year of his five-year career. After playing about 20 snaps per game, he'll likely compete for a depth role next year as an unrestricted free agent.

The fifth-year linebacker has struggled to stay healthy this season, already missing Weeks 3 and 4 due to a hamstring injury.
