Jets' Tyler Johnson: Non-factor in Week 5
Johnson was not targeted in Sunday's 37-22 loss to the Cowboys.
The veteran wideout from Minnesota was a healthy scratch in the Jets' Week 4 loss to the Dolphins but returned in Week 5. However, Johnson played just three offensive snaps and wasn't involved in the team's offensive gameplan. He appears to be out of favor in the Jets' receiving corps, playing behind Garrett Wilson, Josh Reynolds, Arian Smith and Allen Lazard. If Johnson is active for the Week 6 matchup against the Broncos, he'll likely play another depth role.

Jets' Tyler Johnson: Inactive Monday
Johnson (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday night's game against the Dolphins, Susanna Weir of the Jets' official site reports.
With Johnson the odd man out Monday, Josh Reynolds -- in his return from a two-game absence -- Arian Smith, Allen Lazard and Isaiah Williams are available to handle WR snaps and targets that don't go to clear-cut top option Garrett Wilson. In three games this season, Johnson has recorded a 4-63-0 line on six targets.

Jets' Tyler Johnson: Logs 32 yards in Week 3
Johnson caught two of three targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 29-27 loss to the Buccaneers.
For the second consecutive week, the 27-year-old received increased snaps with the Jets' first-team offense while filling in for the injured Josh Reynolds (hamstring). Johnson tied Allen Lazard for the second-most targets among New York receivers, trailing Garrett Wilson's 13 looks. Regardless of whether Reynolds returns in the Jets' Week 4 matchup against the Dolphins, Johnson is expected to continue playing a depth role in the team's wide-receiver corps.

Jets' Tyler Johnson: No catches in Week 2
Johnson didn't catch his only target in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Bills.
Johnson failed to step up in the absence of Josh Reynolds (hamstring), but nobody else did, either, as Garrett Wilson was the only Jet to record double-digit receiving yards in the lopsided loss. A possible quarterback change from Justin Fields (concussion) to Tyrod Taylor for Week 3 against the Buccaneers is unlikely to change Johnson's uninspiring fantasy outlook.

Jets' Tyler Johnson: Signed to Jets' active roster
The Jets signed Johnson to the active roster Monday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
The Jets had room on the 53-man roster after placing Alijah Vera-Tucker (triceps) on injured reserve Saturday, and they've opted to bring up Johnson from the practice squad to fill that spot. Johnson was elevated for the Jets' Week 1 loss to the Steelers on Sunday, when he played 32 snaps on offense and caught both of his targets for 31 yards, finishing third in receiving yards behind Garrett Wilson (95) and Breece Hall (38). Given his usage in Sunday's regular-season opener, Johnson could be a consistent part of the Jets' offensive scheme moving forward.

Jets' Tyler Johnson: Makes two catches in loss
Johnson caught both of his targets for 31 yards in Sunday's 34-32 loss to the Steelers.
Johnson finished third on the team in receiving yards behind Garrett Wilson (95) and Breece Hall (38). The Jets don't have many playmakers on offense besides Wilson, Hall and quarterback Justin Fields. Johnson could remain in the mix as a secondary option in the Jets' passing game against the Bills in Week 2.

Jets' Tyler Johnson: Elevated from practice squad
The Jets elevated Johnson from the practice squad Saturday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
The 27-year-old wideout appeared in 15 regular-season games for the Rams last season and produced a 26-291-1 receiving line on 41 targets. He'll provide depth behind Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds on Sunday against the Steelers.

Tyler Johnson: Added to Jets' practice squad
Johnson was released and subsequently added to the Jets' practice squad Wednesday, Eric Allen of the team's official website reports.
Johnson made New York's initial 53-man roster Tuesday, but he was released after the addition of tight end Jelani Woods and two defensive players Wednesday. The wide receiver will now stick around with the Jets' practice unit. He played in 15 regular-season contests with the Rams in 2024, so there's a good chance he earns an elevation to the active roster with New York at some point this season.

Jets' Tyler Johnson: Only WR to catch pass from Fields
Johnson caught both of his targets for 27 yards in Saturday's 30-10 preseason win over the Packers.
Johnson was the only wide receiver to catch a pass from starting quarterback Justin Fields, who played one drive. The veteran wide receiver added a 21-yard catch from rookie quarterback Brady Cook on the last play of the first quarter. Johnson looks like a lock to make the 53-man roster after impressing the coaching staff in training camp, and there's still time for him to make a case for a starting role.

Jets' Tyler Johnson: Listed as backup on depth chart
Johnson is listed as a reserve on the unofficial depth chart the Jets released Sunday.
Garrett Wilson, Josh Reynolds and Allen Lazard are listed as starters, with Johnson behind Reynolds on the depth chart. Lazard's placement on the depth chart suggests he could be utilized in the slot, with Johnson as a reserve on the outside. Earlier reports from Jets beat writers in training camp suggested that Johnson has been outplaying Lazard.
