Nathan Mensah: Waived by San Antonio
The Spurs waived Mensah (undisclosed) on Sunday, Ty Jager of FanSided.com reports.
Mensah agreed to a non-guaranteed training camp deal with the Spurs in July, and he will likely end up on the club's G League affiliate -- the Austin Spurs. The 26-year-old appeared in 25 regular-season games for the Hornets last year, during which he averaged 1.3 points and 2.6 rebounds across 12.3 minutes per game.

Spurs' Nathan Mensah: Joins San Antonio for camp
Mensah and the Spurs agreed to a training camp deal Monday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Mensah spent time with the Hornets during the 2023-24 regular season, appearing in 25 games with averages of 1.3 points and 2.6 rebounds while on a two-way contract. In San Antonio, Mensah will be facing an uphill battle to claim a final roster spot.

Nathan Mensah: Cut by Hornets
Mensah was waived by the Hornets on Saturday.
Mensah appeared in 25 games for the Hornets and averaged 1.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.6 blocks across 12.3 minutes in the process. The 25-year-old will now look for an opportunity elsewhere, but if he doesn't catch on with another NBA team, he'll presumably stick around in the Hornets organization as a member of the G League's Greensboro Swarm.

Hornets' Nathan Mensah: Sticks in rotation Monday
Mensah ended Monday's 128-125 win over the Timberwolves with two points (1-1 FG), three rebounds and one assist over 15 minutes.
Mensah continues to play as the backup center, logging at least 15 minutes for the third consecutive game. While it has been nice to see him getting a crack at the big time, the fact he is still playing limited minutes even though the team is without its two primary center options, Nick Richards (ankle) and Mark Williams (back), does not bode well for Mensah's short-term future.

Hornets' Nathan Mensah: Plays 16 minutes in win
Mensah had zero points (0-1 FG), one rebound, two blocks and two steals in 16 minutes during Tuesday's 111-104 win over Sacramento.
Mensah played his second-most minutes of the season and was stellar defensively, but he failed to make contributions elsewhere. With the Hornets shorthanded, Mensah has played double-digit minutes in back-to-back games.

Hornets' Nathan Mensah: Good to go against Indiana
Mensah (personal) isn't on the injury report for Wednesday's game versus the Pacers.
Mensah will be available for Wednesday's contest after missing Charlotte's previous game due to personal reasons. The rookie center is averaging 2.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in 21.0 minutes across his first two appearances this season.

Hornets' Nathan Mensah: Won't play Monday
Mensah isn't with the team and has been ruled out for Monday's game in Toronto due to personal reasons.
Mensah made his NBA debut Friday and has appeared in each of the Hornets' last two games, totaling four points, 15 rebounds and one assist in 42 minutes. With Miles Bridges (personal) out, Mark Williams (back) doubtful and P.J. Washington (shoulder) and Gordon Hayward (illness) questionable, the Hornets' frontcourt may be extremely shorthanded, so Nick Richards, JT Thor and Leaky Black are candidates for hefty roles.

Hornets' Nathan Mensah: Available Friday
Charlotte head coach Steve Clifford said Mensah will be available to make his NBA debut during Friday's game against New Orleans, Sam Perley of the Hornets' official site reports.
The Hornets will be shorthanded in the frontcourt Friday with Mark Williams (back) and P.J. Washington (shoulder) unavailable, so Mensah will have an opportunity to see some minutes, likely off the bench. He's averaged 10.3 points and 8.4 rebounds in 29.3 minutes per game over 14 appearances for the G League's Greensboro Swarm this year and signed a two-way contract with the Hornets on Thursday, but he's unlikely to see as much work with the parent club.

Hornets' Nathan Mensah: Set to sign two-way deal
Mensah is set to sign a two-way contract with the Hornets, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Mensah, who was undrafted out of San Diego State, has been playing with Charlotte's G League affiliate in Greensboro, but he will get the chance to earn NBA minutes in a depleted frontcourt. However, he's not likely to see meaningful minutes in the short-term scenario. Mensah is averaging 10.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game across 14 appearances with the Swarm at the G League level.

Nathan Mensah: Cut loose
Mensah was waived by the Hornets on Saturday, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Mensah failed to secure a roster spot ahead of the 2023-24 opener and will now test his options elsewhere. He appeared in four preseason contests for the Hornets but totaled only 15 minutes, nine points and five rebounds over that stretch.
