Wizards' Tre Johnson: Ruled out Saturday
Johnson (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Bulls.
Johnson will miss his first game of the season due to left hip flexor soreness, and his next opportunity to play will come Tuesday against the Hawks. With the rookie sidelined, Bub Carrington, Corey Kispert and Cam Whitmore are candidates for increased minutes.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Dealing with hip soreness
Johnson is questionable for Saturday's game against the Bulls due to left hip flexor soreness.
Johnson is in danger of missing his first game of the season after posting 14 points (5-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one block over 19 minutes during Washington's 140-110 loss to Toronto on Friday. After playing at least 20 minutes in 12 straight games to begin the campaign, Johnson has played fewer than 20 in three straight, so it's possible the hip issue has been bothering him for over a week.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Leads bench with 14 points
Johnson posted 14 points (5-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one block over 19 minutes during Washington's 140-110 loss to Toronto on Friday.
It was a rough game all around for the Wizards during Friday's blowout loss, but Johnson led the bench with 14 points and finished second on the team in scoring behind veteran guard CJ McCollum (20 points). Johnson has scored in double digits in five of his last seven games, and over that span, he has averaged 11.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 0.6 steals over 22.8 minutes per game while connecting on 43.8 percent of his 4.6 three-point attempts per game.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Won't start Sunday
Johnson won't start Sunday's game against the Nets.
With Bilal Coulibaly (calf) returning from a four-game absence, Johnson will slide to the second unit. Over his last five games off the bench, the rookie has averaged 8.8 points and 2.6 rebounds while shooting 36.4 percent from the field in 24.6 minutes per contest.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Puts up 12 points
Johnson totaled 12 points (4-10 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 0-1 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal in 27 minutes during Wednesday's 135-112 loss to the Rockets.
The rookie out of Texas didn't have his best performance, but the Wizards' offense looked overmatched in this 23-point loss. Johnson opened the season in a bench role but has started in each of the Wizards' last four games, averaging 12.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in that stretch. He should continue to have decent upside as long as he's starting in the absence of Bilal Coulibaly (calf). Johnson is enjoying decent volume, attempting 10 or more shots in three of those four starts.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Starting Friday
Johnson is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Cavaliers.
It's set to be the first career start for the rookie first-rounder, which should enhance his streaming appeal in the absence of Kyshawn George (illness) and Bilal Coulibaly (lower leg). Johnson has averaged 11.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.0 three-pointers in 25.5 minutes per contest over eight games this season.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Drops 10 in loss
Johnson provided 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist and one block in 21 minutes during Monday's 119-102 loss to the Knicks.
Johnson has scored 10-plus points in all but one game this season, serving as one of Washington's prominent bench scorers. The rookie is averaging 12.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.3 steals, 0.9 blocks and 2.1 made threes.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Available Tuesday
Johnson (back) has been cleared to play in Tuesday's game against the 76ers.
Johnson is dealing with a back issue. However, it won't keep him sidelined. He's coming off a decent performance in Sunday's game against the Hornets, finishing with 16 points, four rebounds, two assists and one block across 29 minutes.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Questionable for Tuesday
Johnson is questionable for Tuesday's game against the 76ers due to low back soreness.
Johnson has been logging 27.3 minutes per game off the bench for the Wizards this season, which has the rookie's back acting up. We'll have a better idea of his status following Tuesday's shootaround, but if he is forced to the sidelines, that would open up minutes for Cam Whitmore and perhaps Malaki Branham would be able to get into the rotation.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Pops for 17 off bench
Johnson contributed 17 points (7-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and one block over 26 minutes off the bench during Friday's 117-107 victory over the Mavericks.
Johnson led the Wizards' second unit in minutes, points and made three-pointers. The sixth overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft is having a strong start to his career as the team's sixth man while second-year player Bub Carrington handles starting duties at the point, but the young guards could switch roles at some point if Johnson continues to be the more productive of the two.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Drops 16 in debut
Johnson put up 16 points (5-11 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block across 26 minutes in Wednesday's 133-120 loss to the Bucks.
While Johnson came off the bench backing up Bub Carrington, he did outscore him while playing three fewer minutes. The rookie also led the second unit in scoring and minutes played, seemingly solidifying his spot in the rotation for the foreseeable future.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Not starting Thursday
Johnson won't start in Thursday's preseason game against Detroit.
With CJ McCollum (rest) returning to game action, Johnson will slide to the bench. The rookie guard got the starting nod in Monday's win over New York, recording 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt) and three assists in 14 minutes.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Fares well as starter
Johnson put up 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt) and three assists in 14 minutes of Monday's 120-103 preseason win over the Knicks.
The Wizards rested several key players, including CJ McCollum, allowing Johnson to start alongside Bub Carrington. However, the Wizards kept the playing time of both players in check, as the minutes were spread out among 15 players. With the Wizards in the early stages of a rebuild, Johnson's role figures to grow as the season progresses.

Johnson will start in Monday's preseason game against the Knicks.
With CJ McCollum (rest) sidelined, Johnson will enter the starting five. The Texas product posted eight points (3-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and one assist across 23 minutes in Sunday's preseason-opening loss to the Raptors.

Wizards' Tre Johnson: Cleared for training camp
Johnson (hamstring) has been cleared to participate in training camp, Chase Hughes of Monumental Sports Network reports Tuesday.
Johnson dealt with a hamstring injury during Summer League in Las Vegas, with his last game being played July 11 against the Suns. He finished with 18 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal. The rookie guard being a full-go is a promising sign for Washington, even though a few other notable names on the squad are dealing with injuries, like Bilal Coulibaly (thumb), Alex Sarr (calf) and AJ Johnson (leg).
