Kings' Devin Carter: Limited workload in loss
Carter ended with four points (1-1 FG, 2-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and two steals across nine minutes during Tuesday's 107-101 loss to Oklahoma City.
Carter made just his second appearance of the regular season Tuesday with four games in the books. With Dennis Schroder and Russell Westbrook comfortably ahead of him, as well as Keon Ellis and Malik Monk, there isn't a big path to minutes for Carter at the moment.

Kings' Devin Carter: Out of rotation in season opener
Carter didn't play during Wednesday's 120-116 loss to the Suns.
The 2024 first-rounder appears to be buried on Sacramento's depth chart at point guard. Carter was already set to begin the season behind Dennis Schroder, Keon Ellis and Malik Monk, and last week's signing of Russell Westbrook seems to have made Carter the odd man out.

Kings' Devin Carter: Team option picked up
The Kings exercised Carter's third-year team option Tuesday, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.
Carter hasn't played a minute during the preseason, which could change during the team's next two exhibition games against the Clippers and Lakers. During the 2024-25 campaign, Carter averaged 3.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, shooting 37 percent from the field and 29.5 percent from beyond the arc.

Kings' Devin Carter: Struggles from floor in SL loss
Carter posted 13 points (5-16 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven assists, two rebounds and two blocks in 30 minutes during Sunday's 83-78 Summer League championship game loss to the Hornets.
Carter struggled to find his shot Sunday, shooting just 20 percent from three and 31.3 percent overall. Much of his volume came based on the Hornets' defensive scheme, which consisted of Carter being guarded by big men who would give up the outside shot rather than allowing him to get into the lane. Aside from his struggles from the floor, Carter did well distributing, logging a game-high seven assists.

Kings' Devin Carter: Chips in 17 points in SL win
Carter ended Monday's 94-76 Summer League win over the Suns with 17 points (7-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 0-2 FT), three assists, three steals, two rebounds and one block across 21 minutes.
Carter finished as Sacramento's second-leading scorer in an efficient performance. The 2024 first-round pick also tied the game-high mark in steals. Carter will look to take on a larger role in the 2025-26 campaign after undergoing shoulder surgery and missing an extended period to start his rookie season, during which he averaged 3.8 points across 11.0 minutes per game in 36 regular-season outings.

Kings' Devin Carter: Offensive explosion in SL win
Carter finished with 30 points (10-13 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 5-7 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and three steals across 29 minutes in Saturday's 109-92 Summer League win over the Bulls.
Carter was locked in Saturday, pouring in 30 points to help lead his team to an impressive win. He saw limited action during his rookie campaign in 2024-25, averaging 3.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 11.0 minutes across 36 regular-season appearances. The guard will look to build on his strong Summer League performance and earn a larger role in his second season in 2025-26.

Carter registered 10 points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 22 minutes during Wednesday's 120-106 Play-In Game loss to the Mavericks.
With Keon Ellis getting into foul trouble, Carter saw extended run off the bench and made the most of his minutes. Overall, Carter had a quiet rookie season, appearing in just 38 games with averages of 3.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.5 three-pointers in 11.0 minutes.

Kings' Devin Carter: Available to play Friday
Carter (shoulder) is listed as available for Friday's game against the Hornets.
Carter will return from a two-game absence Friday due to a right shoulder contusion. The rookie first-round pick has averaged 3.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.0 assists across 10.3 minutes per game over his last 10 appearances. However, he's played fewer than four minutes in each of his last three games and is not guaranteed to receive significant playing time against Charlotte.

Kings' Devin Carter: Iffy for Friday
The Kings announced Thursday that Carter has been diagnosed with a right shoulder contusion, is considered day-to-day, and will be listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Hornets, Brenden Nunes of KHTK Sactown Sports 1140 reports.
Carter has already missed Sacramento's previous two contests due to a right shoulder contusion and could remain sidelined Friday. However, the rookie guard averaged just 2.0 minutes per contest in his previous three appearances, so his potential absence shouldn't significantly impact Sacramento's rotation.
