Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Team option declined
The Jazz declined Mbeng's team option for 2026-27 on Monday, Tony Jones of The Athletic reports.
Mbeng played a pivotal role for the Jazz, who were shorthanded due to tanking, down the stretch of the 2025-26 season, but the franchise opted against bringing him back. He will play for the Jazz during the Summer League, however.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Plays all 48 minutes in loss
Mbeng accumulated 14 points (5-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-5 FT), four rebounds, nine assists and five steals in 48 minutes during Sunday's 131-107 loss to the Lakers.
Mbeng moved back into the starting unit for the last game of the regular season and played all 48 minutes. The Jazz rewarded Mbeng with a two-year deal April 2, and he played a key role down the stretch with averages of 8.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.3 steals and 0.4 three-pointers in 32.8 minutes across 15 appearances.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Starting Sunday
Mbeng will start Sunday against the Lakers, Khobi Price of The California Post reports.
Ace Bailey, Cody Williams, Blake Hinson and Oscar Tshiebwe will join Mbeng in the first unit for Sunday's regular-season finale. As a starter this season, Mbeng has averaged 13.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Pops for triple-double from bench
Mbeng amassed 27 points (12-19 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 11 rebounds, 11 assists and three steals in 38 minutes during Friday's 147-101 victory over the Grizzlies.
The undrafted Yale product did a bit of everything in the blowout victory. Mbeng has turned heads since joining the parent club a month ago, and the team rewarded his encouraging play with a two-year contract. Despite the team's misfortunes, the Jazz are stacked at the guard positions. Mbeng's signing signals the possibility for some trade activity emanating from the team's backcourt in the offseason.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Not starting Friday
Mbeng won't start Friday's game against Memphis.
Mbeng started Tuesday's loss to the Pelicans but will retreat to the bench in favor of Kennedy Chandler on Friday. Mbeng has averaged 3.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals in 23.4 minutes per game over his last five appearances off the bench.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Explodes for 26 points in loss
Mbeng recorded 26 points (12-18 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and five steals in 48 minutes during Tuesday's 156-137 loss to New Orleans.
After not playing at all Sunday against the Thunder, Mbeng joined the starting lineup and ended up playing all 48 minutes in what was a career night. Utah's rotations are a mess right now due to injuries, maintenance and lottery implications, but there's a good chance Mbeng remains heavily involved in the final two regular-season games.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Starting versus Pelicans
Mbeng will start Tuesday's game against New Orleans.
Mbeng didn't play in Sunday's 146-111 loss to Oklahoma City. However, not only will he play Tuesday, but he will also re-enter the starting lineup for the first time since the 133-110 loss to the Wizards on March 25. In three starts this season, the 23-year-old has averaged 9.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 0.3 blocks and 1.3 steals across 40.0 minutes.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Dropped from rotation Sunday
Mbeng (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Sunday in the Jazz's 146-111 loss to the Thunder.
Since joining the Jazz on March 13, Mbeng had been a staple in the rotation and averaged 29.8 minutes over his 12 appearances, but he was surprisingly phased out of the mix Sunday. Rather than turning to Mbeng on the second unit, head coach Will Hardy called upon Svi Mykhailiuk -- who had played in just one of the Jazz's previous 17 games -- to fill the eighth and final spot in the rotation. While the arrangement may not be permanent moving forward, Mbeng's lack of playing time Sunday illustrates the risk that the rookie guard will carry as a streaming option for steals over Utah's final three games of the season.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Lands two-year deal
Mbeng signed a two-year deal with the Jazz on Thursday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
After his pair of 10-day contracts ran out, the Jazz will quickly move to lock him up in Utah after some impressive stretches of play. The defensive specialist has averaged 5.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.7 steals in 29.9 minutes per contest across 11 outings.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Set to re-sign with Utah
The Jazz plan to re-sign Mbeng to a rest-of-season contract after his second 10-day deal expired Thursday, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports.
The contract will likely be finalized prior to Friday's game against the Rockets and will keep Mbeng in the fold through the rest of the season and possibly into the 2026-27 campaign, depending on the terms of the deal. An undrafted rookie out of Yale, Mbeng has impressed with his defensive acumen over the course of his two 10-day deals but hasn't offered much utility for fantasy purposes beyond being a streaming option for steals. Over his 11 appearances with Utah, Mbeng has shot just 42.9 percent from the field and 16.7 percent from beyond the arc while averaging 5.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.7 steals in 29.9 minutes per contest.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Heading to bench
Mbeng will come off the bench for Friday's game in Denver.
Brice Sensabaugh is back from his rest day and starting, so Mbeng will shift back to the second unit. As a reserve this season, Mbeng owns averages of 2.8 points, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Sees 44 minutes in loss
Mbeng logged 11 points (5-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), five rebounds, six assists, one block and three steals over 44 minutes during Wednesday's 133-110 loss to the Wizards.
The Jazz utilized an eight-man rotation, with several players who hardly touched the floor at the beginning of the campaign. Mbeng has been getting a ton of run lately, averaging 34.5 minutes over his last seven games with 5.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals on 41.7 percent shooting from the field.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Signs another 10-day deal
Mbeng signed a second 10-day contract with the Jazz on Monday.
Mbeng saw 33.4 minutes per contest across his first five outings with the Jazz, averaging 4.8 points, 4.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds. He's likely to remain heavily involved going forward, especially while Keyonte George (hamstring) and Isaiah Collier (hamstring) are sidelined.

Bez Mbeng: Contract expires
Mbeng became a free agent Monday after his 10-day contract with the Jazz expired, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
After signing with Utah on March 13, the undrafted rookie out of Yale was heavily involved during his week-and-a-half-long stay in the NBA. He was part of the rotation for each of the Jazz's last five games, averaging 4.8 points, 4.2 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 33.4 minutes per contest while shooting 39.1 percent from the field. The Jazz would have the ability to retain Mbeng on a second 10-day deal or rest-of-season contract, so if the team intends to keep him, any re-signing would likely be finalized prior to Monday's game versus the Raptors.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Drawing first career start
Mbeng will start in Saturday's game against the 76ers.
Mbeng will make his first career start, stepping up to the top unit alongside Elijah Harkless, Cody Williams, Ace Bailey and Kyle Filipowski. In four appearances this season, Mbeng is averaging 2.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals across 30.5 minutes. Mbeng is signed to a 10-day deal with the Jazz, but the contract is set to expire before Utah's next game Monday versus the Raptors.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Getting significant playing time
Mbeng finished Thursday's 128-96 victory over the Bucks with five points (1-4 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, six assists, one block and three steals across 35 minutes.
Since agreeing with the Jazz on a 10-day contract a week ago, Mbeng is carving out a solid role for himself. Even so, Mbeng has averaged 2.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals in 30.5 minutes per game over four games this year, so he's not yet made his way onto the fantasy radar in most situations.

Jazz's Bez Mbeng: Lands 10-day deal with Utah
Mbeng agreed Thursday with the Jazz on a 10-day contract, Jake Fischer of BleacherReport.com reports.
An undrafted rookie out of Yale, Mbeng was cut by the Heat prior to the start of the season and has spent the entire season with Miami's G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Through 41 appearances for the Skyforce, the 6-foot-4 guard has averaged 6.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.8 steals in 27.5 minutes per game while shooting just 27 percent from three-point range. With Keyonte George exiting the Jazz's 134-117 loss to the Knicks on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury and at risk of missing time, Mbeng could be called upon to serve as a backup point guard in Utah's next contest Friday in Portland.
