John Cena will wrestle his last match at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event on Dec. 13. The honor of retiring Cena must be earned, though, as WWE superstars are currently battling in The Last Time is Now Tournament, with the winner ultimately becoming his final opponent in Washington, DC.

Competition in The Last Time is Now Tournament began on the Nov. 10 episode of Monday Night Raw, and it is continuing the two weekly shows, leading into the fifth and final Saturday Night's Main Event of 2025.

Superstars from every rung of the WWE ladder are competing for the unique opportunity to show Cena the door. The 16-man field includes both day-to-day superstars from Raw and SmackDown, popular NXT wrestlers like Je'Von Evans, and classic rivals like The Miz.

Two surprise entrants from Cena's past also competed in the tournament. Zack Ryder returned for a one-off match on SmackDown, and Dolph Ziggler received a warm ovation for his match on Raw.

Rusev and Sheamus, each with a longstanding history of fighting Cena, were the first to advance to the quarterfinals. However, Sheamus pulled out before the quarterfinals with a shoulder injury. Jey Uso overcame The Miz, while LA Knight spoiled Ryder's WWE return to advance. A returning GUNTHER and Solo Sikoa have also progressed.

Now, the quarterfinals are set with some interesting matchups. GUNTHER will take on Hayes on Raw, while Sikoa will face Penta. Then on SmackDown, Rusev will face Jey Uso while LA Knight will await an opponent to be named after Sheamus' injury.

Take a look below at the tournament schedule, results, and upcoming match dates. WWE has not yet released an official bracket, but once it does, CBS Sports will update the matchups accordingly. Check back periodically for updates ahead of Cena's last farewell stop on Dec. 13.
