The Premier League is back and with the season underway, it's also a chance to look at the kits for all 20 teams. With there being so much to look at, I graded home and away looks separately, ranking them from one to twenty, then averaged them together for final rankings and was pretty surprised how many teams ended up having one great kit but then one that didn't work for me. In a scenario where teams are looking to appeal to everyone, I guess having drastic differences makes sense, except there were far too many black or white shirts for my liking.
But let's get to looking at what all the Premier League teams will be wearing this season.
1. Brighton
Home - 5, Away - 4
A team with a consistent look, Brighton's blue and white stripes fit well on a home kit to make it look well done. What separates this look from some of the similar ones around the league is that the Seagulls went narrower with their stripes. Add in an away that's almost the same thing but an inverse, and while it's a simple design, it's one that works.
We're delighted to unveil our new @NikeFootball home & away kits, available online now! 😍

2. Brentford
Home - 6, Away - 3
A club on the up, Brentford's away look has a lot in common with Brighton, but the black and white, based on suit tailoring, is just lovely.

Going to their home threads, Brentford have done the unthinkable, and they'll wear this look for two consecutive seasons, it's not something that factored into ranking, as again, contrasting stripes are a great look, but we love to see it.

3. Liverpool
Home - 1, Away - 10
Liverpool's candy kits are iconic, and this season they've pulled some design elements from that to make a great all-around kit. The away isn't as strong, but overall, it's still a solid use of a white kit as we start getting into groups of teams who have serious gaps between their home and away looks.
an icon reimagined. ❤️

4. Leeds United
Home - 2, Away - 11
Leeds United's home look has a lot in common with Japan's away World Cup kit, that was a great kit, so there's nothing wrong with that. The away is pretty basic, with just having a yellow shirt making the Red Bull sponsor the star of it.

5. Aston Villa
Home - 8, Away - 5
Given Villa's colors, it's hard to go wrong with their home kit, and yet again, the Claret and Blue do the job with the nice touch of a collar as well. It's a solid look that's well complemented by their away kit. Plenty of teams have tried to do black shirts this season, and most of them have come across poorly, but Villa have nailed it.

6. Coventry City
Home - 4, Away - 12
The Sky Blues are back, and they brought the threads to match. By now, you've picked up that I like stripes, and they went above and beyond when it comes to the detailing of those stripes and how they work together.

The away is a bit plain, but it is helped by the club shifting their badge so it blends in with the shirt, and it's at least off-white instead of plain white, which keeps it closer to mid-tier versus being a poor look.

Great color combo, isn't it? pic.twitter.com/8J5mE7hBTw
7. Manchester United
Home - 7, Away - 10
I still haven't come around to blue being the primary color for a Manchester United away kit, but it still looks quite good overall. They're another team with an iconic home look, but the addition of a collar with their standard red keeps both of the club's looks in the upper tiers of the Premier League. Nothing spectacular, but it gets the job done.

8. Ipswich Town
Home - 11, Away - 6
Back in the Premier League after a season away, the Tractor Boys are taking design elements from their floodlights for their home kit, but if so, it would make sense for it to have a bit more color all things considered. It's not a bad look at all, it just could be better. Their away is a bit like Leeds United's, but it still works so well, especially with their specific badge.

9. Fulham
Home - 16, Away - 2
If you want a kit to represent a club, please look elsewhere. Remove the badges and Fulham's away look screams Bournemouth or an inverse Croatia, but it's still lovely. From the shift in their badge to how the colors work together it's great.
Always Original.

Introducing the 2026/27 Fulham Away Kit, out now.
Nothing to see in regard to their home kit. It's a white shirt with some stuff on it.
10. Arsenal
Home -17, Away - 1
I may be being a bit harsh on Arsenal's home kit since if you close your eyes and imagine exactly what it would look like, that's what you get, but their away kit makes me want more from this.

The alternate badge, the mix of colors, the textures. Even the nod to the bruised banana in something that actually looks good, the away is lovely on so many levels.

11. Sunderland
Home - 3, Away - 20
Not sure what the black cats are going for with this away look at all. It's a swing but not a great one, and even to do an Elvis-inspired look, there's gotta be a better way.

Now, the home kit, rolling the clock back to winning the FA Cup in 1937 for a season during which they'll take part in Europa League soccer, is great on every level. It makes their stripes look different than Brentford, has an alternate badge look, and of course, the collar.

12. Everton
Home - 14, Away - 9
A clean blue kit for their home look is Everton standard. No real issues there, but they do spice it up a little with minor details on a clean white shirt for the away look. Nothing spectacular, but it grades out well overall.
Ready for the road. 🤍

13. Chelsea
Home - 9, Away - 15
It'll be a great day when the Club World Cup champions badge isn't muddling up a pretty good kit. The Blues have a solid home look, and while it's what you would expect it to be considering their nickname, the minor touches such as the badge and shoulders make it pop a little.

14. Crystal Palace
Home - 18, Away - 7
Someone, please tell Palace that they shifted their looks. The home sash is... something? And wow, that many lines clash with their sponsor.

15. Tottenham
Home - 10, Away - 17
Tottenham essentially have to wear white at home, and they've done a good job adding minor detailing to ensure that's awlays a look that has something going on with it, but if you look at the away jersey for too long, you may get a headache, which is too much like watching the team play soccer last season.

The home kit isn't bad, it's actually a nice shade of blue until you get to the part where the printer ran out of ink.

18. Hull City
Home - 12, Away - 18
I get what they're going for with the home, and it's a sharp contrast that works for Hull City, but it also gets caught up with the other stripes and collars. But then, getting to the away, it looks like they forgot to add differentiating details until the very end.
😊 I’d be pretty happy with @oxensportsuk as my clubs kit partner, would you?!

When it comes to Bournemouth's away, this is going to be a divisive jersey. They took a swing with purple, and being a Ravens fan, I'm usually a sucker for a good purple, but this one doesn't land for me.

This is another kit that gives me a headache to look at, with the different thicknesses of their stripes not really working together.
Home lives in black and white.

The castles in the away kit are a nice touch, although the sponsor is strange and takes away from it, but it's not enough to keep Newcastle out of the bottom spot here.
