After a loss to the Calgary Flames last week, Colorado Avalanche goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere ripped his teammates for being too worried about their offseason trip to Las Vegas and not focused on finishing the season.
The message apparently got through, at least for now. Thanks to their 4-3 win over the Northwest Division leading Canucks on Saturday, the Avs have gained five of a possible six points over the past three games. All of the games have come against playoff teams, including the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings.
Saturday's game featured a three-goal third period from the Avs, including the winning goal from defenseman Jan Hejda -- his first goal of the season and first since March 6, 2012 -- with just seven seconds to play in regulation.
If the Avs keep winning these games, that's only going hurt their chances in the draft lottery.
(I'm kidding, of course ... sort of.)
