Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Exits game with ankle injury
Kneeland is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Panthers due to an ankle injury, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Kneeland was cleared to play against Carolina after working through an ankle injury all week. He appears to have aggravated the injury, and he'll be evaluated to determine whether he can return to Sunday's game. James Houston and Jadeveon Clowney are in line to see more rotational snaps at defensive end for as long as Kneeland is out of the game.

Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Slated to suit up in Week 6
Kneeland (ankle) is active for Sunday's clash against Carolina, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Kneeland will return from a one-week absence after logging a trio of limited practices this week. The second-year defensive end played between 30 percent and 47 percent of Dallas' defensive snaps each of the first four weeks this season and will likely take on a similar workload Sunday.

Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Questionable versus Carolina
Kneeland (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Clarence Hill Jr. of AllDLLS.com reports.
Kneeland got in a trio of limited practices this week after missing Week 5 against the Jets. Kneeland has been a part-time player on defense this season, logging eight tackles (four solo), including 1.0 sacks, on 108 snaps.

Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Logs limited practice Wednesday
Kneeland (ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.
An ankle injury prevented Kneeland from playing against the Jets in Week 5. He has two more opportunities to increase his practice participation and avoid an injury designation heading into Sunday's game against Carolina. James Houston (knee) and Jadeveon Clowney (hip) would continue to see more snaps at defensive end if Kneeland is not cleared to return.

Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Not playing Week 5
Kneeland (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Kneeland saw his practice participation decrease over the week due to an ankle injury, culminating in a DNP on Friday. The injury will keep him sidelined Sunday for the first time this season, and his absence means James Houston and veteran Jadeveon Clowney will both see more snaps at defensive end in rotation with starters Sam Williams and Dante Fowler.

Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Questionable to play against Jets
Kneeland (ankle) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Kneeland was a full participant at practice Wednesday, but he downgraded to limited participation with an ankle issue Thursday and then did not participate Friday, putting his availability for Week 5 in jeopardy. If he can't go, it could mean an uptick in reps on the edge for James Houston.

Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Collects first career sack
Kneeland recorded three tackles, including his first career sack, in Thursday's loss to the Eagles.
The second-year defensive end picked up the Cowboys' first sack of the post-Micah Parsons era, bringing down Jalen Hurts midway through the third quarter. It was the only sack of the game for the Dallas defense. Kneeland played only 11 games as a rookie last season due to a knee injury after being selected in the second round, but the Western Michigan product should be in for a big role in the pass-rush rotation this year as the team tries to replace Parsons' relentless pressure.

Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland: Taking advantage of opportunity
Kneeland has made at least one impact play every day in training camp so far, Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com reports.
With Micah Parsons on the sidelines due to his contract dispute, there's been plenty of first-team reps available for the Cowboys' younger edge rushers, and Kneeland is taking full advantage. The 2024 second-round pick played only 11 regular-season games as a rookie due to a knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery and failed to register a sack, but he's 100 percent healthy and making up for the lost time in his development. If Parsons' absence lingers past Week 1, Kneeland will likely be fighting with 2022 second-round pick Sam Williams and 2025 second-round pick Donovan Ezeiruaku for a starting spot opposite veteran Dante Fowler, but all four should see significant roles in the Dallas pass rush.
