Player Outlook
The Ravens had a down year in 2024 and finished just outside the top 12 defenses. We expect a bounce-back in 2025 and rank them as a top-six defense worthy of a pick in the final two rounds of your Fantasy draft. This offseason they added veteran corner Chidobe Awuzie and drafted defenders in Round 1 (Malaki Starks) and Round 2 (Mike Green) in the 2025 NFL Draft. Those additions should hopefully shore up the back side of the Ravens defense and allow their pass rush to be more effective. The only thing that may dissuade you from picking the Ravens is that they face the Bills, Chiefs, and Lions in the first month of the season. The rest of their schedule is more favorable and it may be worth taking those lumps early in the year. Just don't reach for them.

  • Ravens' Kyle Hamilton: Agrees to blockbuster extension

Hamilton and the Ravens agreed to terms Wednesday on a four-year, $100.4 million contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Hamilton's extension is the largest in NFL history for a safety, but Baltimore wanted to waste no time in securing the 2022 first-round pick's long-term future with the team. Fresh off a breakout 2024 campaign in which he earned second-team All-Pro honors and tallied a career-high 107 total tackles (including 2.0 sacks) while playing all 17 regular-season games, Hamilton is positioned alongside Marlon Humphrey as one of the leaders of the Ravens' secondary. The former also had nine passes defensed in 2024, including one INT, and two forced fumbles (one recovered).

  • Jalyn Armour-Davis: Waived by Baltimore

The Ravens waived Armour-Davis on Tuesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Armour-Davis was unable to make the Ravens' 53-man roster ahead of the 2025 campaign. The fact that Batimore waived the 25-year-old cornerback was a bit of a surprise based on his solid offseason. Armour-Davis also picked off Commanders quarterback Sam Hartman in the final preseason contest, displaying his playmaking ability. Nonetheless, the Alabama product will look to secure a roster spot with another team this year.

  • Ravens' Jaire Alexander: Could be ready for Week 1

Head coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Alexander (knee) is "pushing" towards returning to practice ahead of the Ravens' Week 1 game against the Bills on Sunday, Sept. 7, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Alexander's practice participation during training camp has been limited due to a knee issue from the 2024 regular season, when he played with the Packers. It wouldn't be surprising to see Alexander continue to sit out of practices throughout the regular season given his injury history over the past two years, but participating in a limited capacity should be enough for him to play on a week-to-week basis. If Alexander's defensive snap count is also limited, that would open the door for T.J. Tampa, Chidobe Awuzie and Marlon Humphrey to get more looks at outside corner opposite Nate Wiggins.

  • Ravens' Jalyn Armour-Davis: Snags interception in preseason win

Armour-Davis (illness) recorded two total tackles (one solo) and two passes defensed, including an interception, in Saturday's 30-3 preseason win over Washington. Armour-Davis made the most of his return to action after battling an illness at practice, picking off Commanders quarterback Sam Hartman in the second quarter. The cornerback played 31 snaps on defense and six with the special-teams unit in the win. Armour-Davis is competing for a spot on Baltimore's initial 53-man roster, and Saturday's performance certainly helps.

  • Ravens' Adisa Isaac: Might miss half the season

Isaac needs surgery on the dislocated elbow he suffered during Saturday's preseason game against Dallas and is expected be placed on injured reserve after final roster cutdowns, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. The 2024 third-round pick out of Penn State will likely miss at least half of his second NFL season, per Zrebiec. As a rookie, Isaac only appeared in four games and on 30 defensive snaps due to injuries and coach's decisions. Even if he's able to return in 2025, the outside linebacker faces stiff competition for snaps in the form of Odafe Oweh, Kyle Van Noy and 2025 second-rounder Mike Green.

  • Ravens' Jalyn Armour-Davis: Dealing with illness

Armour-Davis didn't practice Monday due to an illness, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. It doesn't sound like Armour-Davis is dealing with anything serious, but it's unclear when he'll return to practice. The fourth-year cornerback missed some practices earlier in training camp due to an undisclosed injury, so it's good news that his current issue doesn't seem to be related. Armour-Davis will likely work primarily on special teams if he breaks camp on the Ravens' roster.

  • Ravens' Thomas Graham: Catches on with Baltimore

The Ravens signed Graham to a contract Monday. The 2021 sixth-rounder will get an opportunity to make the Ravens' 53-man roster as a depth piece in the secondary. Graham played four snaps on special teams in one regular-season game for the Steelers in 2024 and did not show up in the box score otherwise.

  • Ravens' Jaire Alexander: Still working through knee issue

Head coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Alexander is still managing a minor knee issue that has caused the veteran corner to miss practices, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports. The Ravens have played things cautiously with Alexander's lingering knee issue, which kept him off the field for Monday's training camp practice. Harbaugh didn't appear concerned about Alexander's injury, and barring any setbacks, the 2018 first-rounder should be available for the Ravens' regular-season opener against the Bills on Sunday, Sept. 7. Given his injury history over the past two years, expect Alexander's practice participation to be limited for the rest of training camp and into the regular season.

  • Ravens' Adisa Isaac: Suffers dislocated elbow

Isaac suffered a dislocated elbow in Saturday's preseason game against Dallas and will be sidelined for a few weeks, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. A third-round pick out of Penn State last year, Isaac appeared in just four regular-season games as a rookie, logging four tackles (two solo) and one pass breakup. Now expected to miss multiple weeks, Isaac could be viewed as a candidate to be placed on injured reserve in Baltimore.

  • Ravens' Kyle Hamilton: Returns to practice

Hamilton (groin) returned to practice Tuesday, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports. Hamilton missed last week's preseason opener against the Colts, but his return to practice Tuesday at least gives Hamilton a chance to suit up for Saturday's exhibition against Dallas. Hamilton logged a career-high 107 tackles (77 solo) in 2024 as a 17-game starter during the regular season. He was named a second-team All-Pro.

  • Ravens' Robert Longerbeam: Dealing with injury

Longerbeam (undisclosed) did not practice Saturday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Longerbeam is working through an unspecified injury, which may explain why he didn't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Colts. The rookie sixth-rounder will aim to return to practice in the coming week and be available against the Cowboys on Saturday, Aug. 16.

  • Ravens' William Kwenkeu: Doesn't practice Saturday

Kwenkeu (undisclosed) did not participate in Saturday's training camp practice, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. It's not clear what type of injury Kwenkeu is working through, but he may have picked it up during the Ravens' 24-16 preseason win over the Colts on Thursday, when he finished with one tackle while playing 19 snaps (nine on defense, 10 on special teams). Kwenkeu will look to return to practice and be available for the Ravens' next preseason bout against the Cowboys on Saturday, Aug. 16.

Tampa (undisclosed) did not participate in Saturday's training camp practice, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. He finished with six tackles (three solo) and played on all 80 of the Ravens' defensive snaps as he competes for a backup role at corner. The 2024 fourth-rounder will look to be available for Baltimore's next exhibition game against Dallas on Saturday, Aug. 16.

The Ravens placed Kone (knee) on injured reserve Saturday. With Kone out for 2025, the Ravens bolstered their depth at cornerback by signing M.J. Devonshire.

  • Ravens' M.J. Devonshire: Catches on with Baltimore

The Ravens signed Devonshire to a contract Saturday. Devonshire was let go by the Panthers in late July with an injury settlement. He's fully recovered from his hamstring injury and will bolster the Ravens' cornerback depth after Bilhal Kone (knee) was placed on injured reserve.

  • Ravens' Kyle Hamilton: Absent from practice

Hamilton (groin) will not participate in Saturday's training camp practice, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Hamilton did not play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Colts due to a groin injury. The Ravens will manage Hamilton's injury conservatively, and he's unlikely to play in Baltimore's next preseason game against Dallas on Saturday, Aug. 16 if he's unable to practice in the coming week. Sanoussi Kane drew the start at strong safety Thursday and will continue to get reps with the first-team defense for as long as Hamilton is sidelined.
