Texans vs. Titans updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Texans vs. Titans football game
The Tennessee Titans have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. The Titans and the Houston Texans will face off in an AFC South battle at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at NRG Stadium. Tennessee won't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 10.5-point advantage in the spread.
Tennessee took their matchup against the Miami Dolphins last week by a conclusive 34-3 score. The oddsmakers were on Tennessee's side, but they didn't give the squad enough credit as the margin was unexpectedly wide. Among those leading the charge for them was RB D'Onta Foreman, who rushed for one TD and 132 yards on 26 carries.
Meanwhile, the contest between Houston and the San Francisco 49ers last week was not a total blowout, but with Houston falling 23-7 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one. QB Davis Mills had a pretty forgettable game, throwing one interception with only 5.09 yards per passing attempt.
The Titans are now 11-5 while the Texans sit at 4-12. Tennessee has clinched a playoff berth as the current first seed in the AFC. Houston has been eliminated from playoff contention.
A pair of offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Tennessee enters the game with 23 rushing touchdowns, good for second best in the NFL. Less enviably, Houston is worst in the league in yards per game, with only 273.4 on average. So the cards are definitely stacked against Houston.
