Saints vs. Panthers updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday

Game Recap

The New Orleans Saints won the last time they faced the Carolina Panthers, and things went their way on Sunday, too. The Saints came out on top in a nail-biter against Carolina, sneaking past 27-24. That's two games in a row now that New Orleans have won by three points.

QB Drew Brees and RB Alvin Kamara were among the main playmakers for New Orleans as the former passed for two TDs and 287 yards on 36 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown and the latter picked up 83 yards on the ground on 14 carries and caught eight passes for 65 yards. Brees ended up with a passer rating of 165.90.

A silver lining for Carolina was the play of WR D.J. Moore, who caught four passes for two TDs and 93 yards.

The victory -- their third in a row -- raised New Orleans' record to 4-2. This is the second loss in a row for the Panthers and nudges their record down to 3-4.

The Saints will take on the Chicago Bears at 4:25 p.m. ET next Sunday at Soldier Field. Carolina will take on the Atlanta Falcons at 8:20 p.m. ET on Thursday at home. Atlanta is coming in off of a close defeat (23-22 to the Detroit Lions).
