Panthers vs. Buccaneers Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Panthers vs. Buccaneers football game
The Carolina Panthers lost both of their matches to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season on scores of 17-31 and 23-46, so they're hoping to turn the tables this season. The Panthers and Tampa Bay will face off in an NFC South battle at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last week, Carolina lost to the Buffalo Bills on the road by a decisive 31-14 margin. QB Cam Newton put forth a good effort for the losing side as he passed for one TD and 156 yards on 38 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 71 yards.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers entered their matchup against the New Orleans Saints last week without any home losses -- but there's a first time for everything. Tampa Bay took a 9 to nothing hit to the loss column. This was hardly the result they or its fans were betting on, as they were favored by 11.5 points over New Orleans heading into this contest. QB Tom Brady had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: besides failing to produce a single touchdown, he threw one interception and fumbled the ball once with only 4.46 yards per passing attempt.
Carolina is now 5-9 while Tampa Bay sits at 10-4. The Panthers are 2-6 after losses this season, the Buccaneers 2-1.
