The Packers placed Sam Barrington (ankle) on injured reserve Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
The nature and extent of Barrington's setback is uncertain, but it will prevent him from taking the field again this season. With Barrington out, Nate Palmer will step into the starting lineup at middle linebacker alongside Clay Matthews.
