Micah Parsons update
Multiple reports indicate that the Packers fear a torn ACL for Parsons. He'll obviously undergo testing to confirm.
Week 15 in the NFL was by far the best slate of the season, and it definitely delivered.
We have to start with the Chiefs missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season after losing to the Chargers. Making matters way worse, late in the fourth quarter Patrick Mahomes suffered a knee injury that turned out to be a season-ending torn ACL. Is the Chiefs' dynasty over? Not with Mahomes and Andy Reid, it's not, but there are major questions to answer this offseason.
From playoff elimination to playoff clinching, the Broncos (beat Packers) and Rams (defeated Lions) are the first two teams headed to the postseason. With three weeks to play, they are the No. 1 seeds in their respective conferences.
The Patriots had a great opportunity to join them as the AFC East champions, but after jumping out to a 21-0 lead, they couldn't contain Josh Allen, James Cook and the Buffalo offense in an eventual 35-31 defeat.
Elsewhere in the NFL, the Bears are back atop the NFC North after crushing the Browns; Trevor Lawrence totaled six touchdowns in a 48-point onslaught against the Jets; the Ravens blanked Joe Burrow and the Bengals; the Seahawks spoiled Philip Rivers' fairytale comeback; and nobody wants to win the NFC South after the Saints upset the Panthers.
As for other notable injuries, Micah Parsons is believed to have suffered a torn ACL, per multiple reports, and Davante Adams left his game after aggravating an already gimpy hamstring. The Parsons injury is a major blow to a vaunted Packers defense, while Adams' injury could be detrimental for a Rams offense that has been rolling all season.

Multiple reports indicate that the Packers fear a torn ACL for Parsons. He'll obviously undergo testing to confirm.
The Chiefs confirmed that Mahomes tore his ACL and is exploring surgery. He's out for the season, obviously.
The Broncos staked their claim to the No. 1 seed in the AFC with this win, while the Packers dropped back behind the Bears in the NFC North with this loss. Bo Nix threw four touchdown passes to lead the Broncos, who have now won 11 games in a row. It's an especially brutal loss for the Packers because both Christian Watson and Micah Parsons left with potentially serious injuries.
Los Angeles moved back into the No. 1 seed in the NFC with this win over Detroit, whose playoff chances are on the ropes after this loss. The Rams were down 24-14 at one point and stormed back with 20 straight points to take a double-digit lead of their own and held on despite a late touchdown from Detroit to cut into the lead toward the end of the game. The Rams are now the first team to clinch a spot in the NFC playoffs.
San Francisco jumped out to an early lead in this one and never looked back. Brock Purdy threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns, two to Jauan Jennings and one to George Kittle. Cam Ward threw two TD passes on the other side.
Carolina had a chance to solidify a lead in the NFC South but instead falls to division rival New Orleans for the second time this season. The Panthers and Buccaneers are now both 7-7 and they play against each other twice in the final three weeks of the year.
After a gorgeous throw from Bo Nix to extend the drive on fourth down and get the Broncos into scoring territory, Harvey punched the ball into the end zone from four yards out to push Denver's lead to 8 points. On the ensuing Packers drive, Moss came away with an interception on a ball thrown behind Dontayvion Wicks and tipped up into the air for him.
It was a valiant effort from Rivers and the Colts, who damn near stole a win in Seattle but ultimately came up just short. Rivers had to try a miracle throw over the middle of the field to try to get the Colts into field-goal range for the second time late in the fourth quarter, but his pass was tipped and pick off to seal the win for Seattle.
Seattle moved quickly down the field thanks to several chunk completions from Darnold, and the result was a 56-yard possible game-winning field goal by Jason Myers, his SIXTH field goal of the game. The Colts will have 11 seconds to try to drive for a game-winning score.
The Colts just moved down the field, converting a fourth-down opportunity along the way on a back-shoulder throw from Rivers to Alec Pierce, and they got themselves a 60-yard field goal to take the lead with less than a minute left in the game against the Seahawks, who will have to drive for the game-winning score without the benefit of any timeouts.
Parkinson is having the game of his life: 5 catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns, the second of them being this one on a bootleg from Matthew Stafford following the Puka Nacua injury. The Rams are up two scores very late and looking to secure their hold on the No. 1 seed and do considerably damage to Detroit's playoff hopes.
Nacua just caught a pass over the middle of the field and tried to get back up after being tackled but collapsed back to the turf. He's being checked out by trainers.
Adams pulled up lame on a deep route a few minutes ago and left the field. He's been dealing with a hamstring injury in recent weeks.
The final play of the third quarter saw Nix find Troy Franklin up the seam for Nix's fourth touchdown pass of the game. He's got one each to Franklin, Courtland Sutton, Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Michael Bandy. This one put Denver back in the lead, just after Micah Parsons' injury. Notably, Nix had plenty of time in the pocket to deliver the ball.
What a play from Cam Ward here, extending the play after nobody came open on the initial play-action pass. Simmons came into the game as a fullback on the play, and he did a great job of running the end line to get himself open in the middle of the end zone. Cool play! (Simmons had also gotten the Titans the ball back by stripping Brock Purdy on the previous 49ers drive.)
Micah Parsons just went down with some sort of knee injury. It looked like a non-contact injury. He's being attended to by trainers on the field in Denver.
The Packers have listed him as questionable to return.
Los Angeles has scored 20 straight points since falling down by double-figures. The Rams got into scoring range here thanks to a long catch and run by Puka Nacua, and then Corum made a really nice jump cut to get to the perimeter and take this run into the end zone. The Rams are looking to keep hold of the No. 1 seed in the NFC while the Lions are trying to stay in the thick of the playoff race.
This is a controversial touchdown as it sure seemed like Parkinson was down short of the goal line here, but it's an incredible catch nonetheless. And the Rams would have had first-and-goal inside the 1-yard line anyway, even if he'd been rule short of the end zone. The play stood as called, though, so L.A. has the advantage after falling behind by double digits earlier in the game.
The Broncos were able to take advantage of the Surtain interception with this touchdown drive capped by a really nice throw from Bo Nix to Sutton. Nix made a few different plays on the move on this drive, with tosses to Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Troy Franklin connecting for sizable gains to set up the score.
It's the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Patrick Surtain II, on the interception. Just a phenomenal play cutting in front of Christian Watson to come away with the ball. Watson appeared to bang his shoulder into the ground and get injured on the play. He's still down and being attended to by trainers as I write this update.
The Packers got their drive extended by a penalty on Riley Moss on a third-down deep ball, and they quickly took advantage with this long touchdown run by Jacobs. It's a 40-yarder to extend Green Bay's lead. It's Jacobs' second touchdown of the game, following his receiving touchdown over the top of Dre Greenlaw earlier.
Double move here from Coker doesn't really get the DB to bite that hard but he gets on top of him anyway and goes up the sideline for a really nice touchdown grab to extend Carolina's lead down in New Orleans. Really nice toss from Bryce Young for the score. The Panthers can move a game ahead of the Buccaneers in the NFC South if they hold onto this lead.
The Lions just scored on the same route concept that netted them a touchdown early in the game. This time, it's Jameson Williams turning the post route into a score after Amon-Ra St. Brown did the same thing earlier. The Lions converted a fourth down deep in their own territory earlier in the possession to extend the drive and give themselves a chance to extend the lead.
Denver drove right down the field after the Josh Jacobs touchdown catch and got in the end zone, too, with Lil'Jordan Humphrey breaking the plane with this catch right across the front of the goal line. The Broncos are trying to solidify their hold on the No. 1 seed in the AFC after New England's loss to Buffalo earlier today.
It has been a very quiet game up in Seattle but here's a very loud play: Philip Rivers -- a 44-year-old grandfather who is fresh off his couch and coaching high-school football -- throws a touchdown pass to Josh Downs on the crossing route to extend Indianapolis' lead. Rivers started slow but is 10 of 16 for 81 yards and this score.
What a throw by Jordan Love and what a catch by Josh Jacobs, who basically just Mossed Dre Greenlaw in the back of the end zone. Jacobs came into this game questionable due to a knee injury but now has found his way into the end zone to put Green Bay back on top late in the second quarter. Unfortunately for the Packers, right tackle Zach Tom was injured on the play. They went to commercial following the injury so we haven't seen an extra point or two-point conversion yet.
The Lions took the lead right back from the Rams with this quick screen from Jared Goff to St. Brown, the second time they've connected for a score today. It's fitting that ARSB found the end zone on this drive, because he got the Lions down into scoring position in the first place with a 52-yard catch-and-run after Goff stepped up and through the pocket to find him on a crossing route.
Detroit settled for a red-zone field goal on its last drive. Los Angeles managed to punch its red-zone trip into the end zone with another touchdown run by Kyren Williams -- his second of the day. The Rams have bounced back quite well since the Matthew Stafford interception that was followed quickly by Amon-Ra St. Brown's touchdown to open the scoring.
Michael Bandy comes off the practice squad with Pat Bryant out for this game and he takes advantage with a touchdown grab to put Denver in front for the first time today. The Broncos' defense holding Green Bay to field goals on those first two possessions to keep themselves in the game while the offense struggled to get going was huge.
Really nice throw and catch here from Tennessee's rookies. Ward is 7 of 9 for 90 yards and a touchdown through Tennessee's first two drives. He's been playing better football in recent weeks. Helm has been on the receiving end of two of those passes for 38 yards and this score, which cut into San Francisco's early lead. Both teams have scored on both of their drives so far.
