Lions vs. Vikings Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Lions vs. Vikings football game
The Detroit Lions haven't won a game against the Minnesota Vikings since Oct. 1 of 2017, but they'll be looking to end the drought on Sunday. Detroit and Minnesota will face off in an NFC North battle at 1 p.m. ET at Ford Field. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
It looks like the Lions got the smaller half of the wishbone at Thanksgiving dinner. They fell just short of the Chicago Bears by a score of 16-14. Detroit was their own worst enemy and cost themselves 92 yards in penalties. No one had a standout game offensively for Detroit, but they got scores from TE T.J. Hockenson and WR Josh Reynolds. QB Jared Goff ended up with a passer rating of 167.90.
Meanwhile, Minnesota might have drawn first blood against the San Francisco 49ers last week, but it was San Francisco who got the last laugh. The Vikings fell to the 49ers 34-26. The contest was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Minnesota was outplayed the rest of the way. The losing side was boosted by WR Adam Thielen, who snatched two receiving TDs.
Detroit is expected to lose this next one by 7. They are currently three-for-three against the spread in their most recent games, however, a trend bettors might want to take into account.
The losses put Detroit at 0-10-1 and Minnesota at 5-6. A pair of defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Lions are fourth worst in the league in rushing yards allowed per game, with 133.9 on average. The Vikings' defense has more to brag about, as they they enter the contest with 33 sacks, which is the best in the NFL. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
