Jaguars vs. Titans Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Jaguars vs. Titans football game
The Tennessee Titans are 8-2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars since October of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Sunday. The Titans and Jacksonville will face off in an AFC South battle at 1 p.m. ET at TIAA Bank Field. Both teams are looking to take out their frustrations on one another after having lost close ones recently.
Tennessee fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the New York Jets last week but wound up with a less-than-desirable result, falling 27-24. Tennessee was their own worst enemy and cost themselves 98 yards in penalties. Despite the defeat, they got a solid performance out of RB Derrick Henry, who rushed for one TD and 157 yards on 33 carries.
Special teams collected ten points for Tennessee. K Randy Bullock delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
Speaking of close games: Jacksonville scored first but ultimately less than the Cincinnati Bengals in their matchup last Thursday. It was a hard-fought game, but the Jaguars had to settle for a 24-21 loss against Cincinnati. Jacksonville was up 14 to nothing at the end of the half but couldn't hold on to the lead. Jacksonville's defeat came about despite a quality game from RB James Robinson, who punched in two rushing touchdowns.
Tennessee is now 2-2 while Jacksonville sits at 0-4. Two offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Tennessee enters the matchup with 163.8 rushing yards per game on average, good for fourth best in the NFL. Less enviably, the Jaguars are fifth worst in the league in passing yards per game, with only 218.3 on average. So the cards are definitely stacked against Jacksonville.
