Game Recap
The Jacksonville Jaguars had a rough go of it in October when they matched up with the Houston Texans and had to endure more of the same Sunday. It was close but no cigar for the Jaguars as they fell 27-25 to Houston. Jacksonville hasn't found any success against Houston since Dec. 17 of 2017, this defeat making it six in a row.
It was another big night for Houston's QB Deshaun Watson, who passed for two TDs and 281 yards on 32 attempts in addition to picking up 50 yards on the ground. Near the top of the highlight reel was Watson's 77-yard TD bomb to WR Will Fuller in the third quarter. Houston also relied on the talents of K Ka'imi Fairbairn, whose two field goals, the longest a 54-yard boot in the first quarter, proved pivotal in the final score.
Despite the loss, the Jaguars got a solid performance out of WR D.J. Chark, who caught seven passes for one TD and 146 yards. That receiving effort made it the first game that Chark has posted more than 100 yards receiving.
Jacksonville's loss makes it seven in a row and drags their record down to 1-7. The Texans' victory brought them up to 2-6.
Jacksonville will square off against the Green Bay Packers at 1 p.m. ET next week at Lambeau Field. Jacksonville is heading into an offensive buzzsaw as that team is averaging 32 per matchup. Houston is on the road again next week and plays against the Cleveland Browns at 1 p.m. ET Nov. 15 at FirstEnergy Stadium. Unlike Houston, Cleveland will be limping in after taking a loss.
